I've been trying to find a close match using Vallejo colors for the IJN Sasebo Aresenal Gray. A lot of sites recommend using Tamiya's XF-77, unfortunately NONE of the color conversion charts I've seen have this Tamiya color listed on them.

I already have a large assortment of Vallejo paints and the Vallejo line is carried by two local stores but no local vendor of Tamiya paints. I'd hate to have to mail order a single jar of paint, especially since it's likely I already have something that is a close match, I just don't know which one…

I found this:

Looks like #816, Luftwaffe Uniform. I think the Tamiya is a new color and Model Master is listing some under their "International" range, not sure what that is.

I also use 816 Luftwaffe Uniform WWII. Its not an absolute exact match, but it was the closest match I could find when I dragged a paint chip to my local shop's Vallejo rack. Not much of a problem since I lighten all colors when painting my ships.

Striker: wow what an awesome resource! That will be incredibly useful for me, thank you!

Striker- Neat document! Wish I had it when I was painting up my IJN ships (but will be real useful for my USN ships!). Thanks!

Glad it can help you guys out. I've also been on the search since a gaming pal has gotten me back into WWII naval, and I'm only doing the IJN.
