What does a war gamer and a (reluctant) member of the IC (I won't lie, I wish I was still a DOD only employee) get for his 65th birthday from his wife?

A book entitled A Quick and Dirty Guide to War. An interesting Layperson Level analysis of all those spots not to vacation in.

Thanks, Beautiful Princess!

Great gift! You have a winner, my friend

I truly do.

When she heard me talking about it with friends she jumped on her iPad and ordered it. She said it was the easiest and most inspired Birthday Gift in our marriage.

I have the copy from the tech library on my desk right now, catching up on a potential conflict I have been assigned some work on, and it helps when you have not followed some part of the world's crisis de jour and get asked to produce information on it… You don't know what to look for if you have never been involved in a distant part of the world before the assignment.

In depth, no; gives you a feel for "who, why, and how"? Oh Yeah!

….is a rarity and worth her weight in diamonds (but don't her that….:-)

I'm not sure Sue would say that She Get's it!

But Sue is very supportive and regularly picks up magazines and books that she has seen and thinks that may interest me.

My long term girlfriend helps me paint when I have a bunch of stuff I need to get ready for a convention or big game. She also supports me in the most important way: Not giving me grief when I game regularly. I do limit myself to only one night a week (which lately I haven't been doing becuase the group died) and one Saturday a month usually.

My sweet lady paints all my bases, does the grass flocking, tufts and flowers.
She also does a base paint on horses, tanks and such.

MRS Bunkermeister purchased an Ideal Atomic Cannon toy for me a couple months ago. We vacationed at a toy soldier convention for three days and I ran out of money before I found it. She sneaked down there and purchased it for me! She is awesome.

I nominate Mary as Paragon Wife! She gets it and she's a fan herself! She plays, she paints, she'll even don a theme costume when it will add to the fun, as shown in this January game:

This was for a Pulp Alley rules game.

Mine has more figures (and in more periods/theatres) than me. We even take stuff on holiday. We're sick and pathetic individuals.
