So I never played it, my friend got super adicted when it was new I never did.
But I bought the remasterd edition simply for the mods.
So far I've tried a Stargate Mod and Star Trek mod.
The stargate mod as not the great yet, both are just ported from The orignal to remasterd, the stargate had very square bad models, the maps were dark. Stuff was missing in research and bulding(I could research daedulas ships but can't build them. In the end my first game just crashed with out any reason.
The star trek mod on the other hand, oh lordy. You have all eras ENT, TOS and TNG. I think only TOS lets you play real skirmish, the other periods you only play "invasion" I'm a TNG/DS9 man So I tried invasion, it's the old protect the base against waves. Naturaly the waves I choose to be attacked by was Dominion and cardasians.
I started with A Intrepid, a Defiant, a Nebula and Steamrunner class ship, you get delithium for every ship you destroy, and use said delithium to build ships. A defiant class cost 1300, A galaxy 2900 a Sovereign class 3100 ect.
I Survived 11 waves. The first wave is just 2 small ships, some they varried the type of waves. some were lots of small ships(dominion attack ships,) others were one or two big ships. I mangage to build quite a few defiant class, two galaxy class, 3 nebula and 1 sovergin.
Never had them all at the same time. In the end I got overwhelmed by about 40 dominion attack ships.
