I have been collecting figures for a French West African force,1880's-1890's.I have mostly Askari,Castaway Arts and Black Hat figures.I just came across Reviresco figures which look pretty decent even though I guess they are pretty old.My question is they are listed as 28mm-1/64th but from reading some old threads that they are actually 25mm.Is this true and are they that much different than the figures I have. I have their Tong gang. I would say they ate half way between "true 25 mm" and "heroic 25mm"/28mm. I hope that's helpful. They do not look out of place with either my 25mm or Old Glory 28mm Boxer Rebellion figures. Some are picky about this. I am not, but I do take care to confine to their own units. |

Some of his figures are "true 25mm" and some are larger, closer to 28mm. I'd go by how he describes them in his web store. Jim |

I'll go there, because I'm like that…. A six foot or 1.8 metre tall man in 1/64th scale would measure about 28mm to the top of his head. The same man in 1/56th scale would measure 32mm to the top of his head; approx. 28mm to his eyes. Personally I am in favour of a double size system to make all this clear. Describe figures as 25/28mm or 28/32mm. the first figure to the eyes, the second to where the top of the head would be, beneath the hat or helmet. That would just leave the "different scales on the same figure" to sort out …. |

They fit in with the others, but being an older sculpting you might want to get a few samples before diving in for a lot at once. They were the only Senegalese and laptots for a while. |

Marco they are nice sculpts and fully compatible with OG, WF, Askari…i have some and particularly appreciated those version of Tirailleurs Sénégalais as they are barefoot which is historically correct…the best pose for me is the open handed one which 'll allow you also to spare some minis for mountain gun crews, spare men, mule/camel handler/NCOs eccc..In general their French Colonial and the German askaris plus African types are in the Heroic 28mm style compatible to other manufactures..only the mounted spahis are, in my opinion, not up to the standard of rest of the range as concerning size and design..also the white officer is less interesting..the French sailors are very nice.. |
