I love Victory without Quarter! So much so that I am thinking of using it for Japanese battles in the 1500-1600's. With suitable changes of course. Anyone had the same thought? Any suggestions? |

I'm curious what you have in mind? Samurai armies did not use combined arms core units. So, some things would be very different. I like how Killer Katanas handles activation. Sorta similar to VWQ. I just am not sold on the combat mechanics of KK. The resource info is worth its weight in gold! |

Hey John, Not sure yet, I just know that the command system in VWQ is quite fun, the basing is ascetically pleasing and the fighting mechanics easy to learn. We went from just a couple of people playing EcW to games of 10 players many which are newbies that have raise small brigades for the games. I see a Japanese flavored VWQ as being a good medium to open up a new period. Especially with all the lead and plastic figs out there. I was going to use KK as a guide for troop types. Mike |

Gentlemen, I know very little about Samurai warfare . . . but one thing you might not be aware of is that VWQ works very very well as a Solo Game . . . so you don't necessarily need an opponent if you have enough troops. -- Jeff

Hey Jeff, we got the players, just need the right rules to entice them, fun and easy to pick up. Mike |
