No. 1 son has started watching the Star Wars movies with No. 1 grandson, who just turned 5

We were visiting last weekend and I watched part of The Empire Strikes Back with him – I asked him who his favourite character was

Without a blink of an eye, he turned and said, "The Stormtroopers"

That boy's being raised right

Amen, brother! I have a 1/6 scale stormtrooper standing guard over my workbench. My wife bought me a Chewbacca because she said I needed a good guy. Now my poor stormtrooper has to guard my workbench AND the feral, rebellious walking carpet.

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 9:07 a.m. PST

Interesting thing about Stormtroopers they may look very impressive but they're not as they couldn't hit anything they were aiming at.

What the Empire really needed was a good eyedoctor since the Stormtroopers needed glasses badly.

Red Shirt and Stormtrooper get into a shootout, The Stormtrooper misses and the Red Shirt still dies

Good show. My lad formed the view the Uruk-Hai were the only faction in LoTR worth admiring [I refer, of course, to the Book]. He still weeps a little at the Death of Ugluk. Mainly however his time these days is taken up with Basic Research into Cancer Biology, at the Ludwig Institute, Oxford.

Long live the Empire!

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 11:04 a.m. PST

The Empire will fall be it in Episode 7 or a future film and when it does the Rebel Alliance/Resistance will prevail and bring peace back to the Galaxy.

When you say the REAL Darth Vader would that be before he lost an arm and both legs to Obi-Wan?

I think you'll find Stormtroopers and Vader have excellent taste…and I think they hit their target when it REALLY matters

I have a 1/6 scale stormtrooper standing guard over my workbench.

I have been really thinking about getting one of those! Pretty reasonably priced.

What the Empire really needed was a good eyedoctor since the Stormtroopers needed glasses badly.

I always figured maybe their lenses were tinted too dark. Maybe they needed to toss a lot of flare grenades to even things out.

When you say the REAL Darth Vader would that be before he lost an arm and both legs to Obi-Wan?

Now proven to be an incident of mass hysteria.

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 1:35 p.m. PST

War Panda we are not amused and if they REALLY needed to hit a target that matters they haven't done it yet.

Jar Jar Binks, no question.

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 1:46 p.m. PST

piper909 I've said in other topics that Jar Jar Binks is my favorite Star Wars character with Admiral Ackbar following in second place.

Death Star Security Guards.

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 2:15 p.m. PST

Terrement do you know that those chess pieces were made in one of the sets that WOTC made of the Star Wars collectible figures.

Ghostrunner23 Apr 2015 2:55 p.m. PST

I always liked the Emperor's Royal Guard… just standing there they looked tough as nails.

Then Yoda force tossed 2 of them in Ep 3 and made them just another bunch of Empire chumps.

So much for that childhood memory…

Aren't they a little short to be stormtroopers?

Captain Gideon23 Apr 2015 3:24 p.m. PST

I have some extra's of these figures but maybe not all of them would you be interested in them?

seldonH23 Apr 2015 6:56 p.m. PST

hey hey… in episode 4 quite a few rebel troopers die to the assaulting storm troopers…

My 5 year old has been immitating Darth Vader sounds since before he started talking :)

The other day he decided Cheewbacka is the coolest !

And he keeps asking for the fricking lego sand crawler for christmass :)

Winston Smith23 Apr 2015 8:38 p.m. PST

Mace Windu.

When Jackson dropped by the set for the filming of Ep 2 and they offered him a cameo in 2 and a major role in 3, he said "Just so long as I don't die a punk ass death and get to say "May the Force be with you. ""
He got his wish.
Ordinarily I consider Jedi to be Fascists but in Mace's case I make an exception.

Dacron Polyester.
Oh wait. Never mind. He's a tight end for Atlanta.

mandt223 Apr 2015 9:22 p.m. PST

The Millennium Falcon. It had more character than the actors.

Bashytubits23 Apr 2015 10:11 p.m. PST

R2 D2. The robot rules!

Now if they would only re-release the West Wind Star Wars figures.

X-wing pilot extraordinaire Jeb Porkins. Proves that the obese in the far future can still pilot an X-Wing.

Doesn't matter who you pick if George keeps re-writing the originals now does it? :)

On that basis, Greedo: he was obviously rewritten with Stalinist style methodology as a bad guy when he really didn't deserve it!

I'm amused.
And seriously, watch the films again.
Stormtroopers shoot a six inch grouping, on full auto, from the hip, while running.
That's not only impressive, it's impossibly good.

I've always found General Veers to be pretty cool.
And Admiral Piett took his sudden promotion in admirable stride.
