This is an itch I have wanted to scratch for a while, a modular 6mm massive tank.

The side slots and all toppers are interchangeable. There are front, end, and middle chasis pieces, so you can theoretically just keep adding middle chassis to make this thing as ridiculously long as you want.

I will probably be commissioning some more toppers prior to release, and am bandying about the idea of releasing smaller vehicles and infantry in the same design aesthetic to go with it. Thoughts?

Add a "boostergun" turret. A single barrel, very long, with additional chambers/injectors going up the sides of the barrel (for the Heinlein fans in the room).

My 3mm SF armies want this monster!

Cool!

parrot150023 Apr 2015 4:32 a.m. PST

Can you sell just the track units? I have my own chassis, I need track units….

devilinthedetails23 Apr 2015 4:40 a.m. PST

Sounds like the V3 Lion…

Deltapax123 Apr 2015 5:27 a.m. PST

Looks sweet – 2 recommendations for the first unit though. I'd suggest either adding 2 of those little gun mounts you have sticking out of the side to the front as well, OR somehow lowering the top deck of the first unit so if a customer orders 2 turrets and puts them on the first and second unit, the guns on the second unit can also shoot forward over the guns of the first unit (like a battleship). Same suggestions for a 'caboose' unit. Also, is there any way to round where the connector between units touches the next unit, so these could be posed curved instead of just glues straight?

As for matching units, I think that'd be awesome, especially some scifi bikes maybe acting as scouts/spotters? Or some kind of heli drone like a Canadair CL-227 – then you could add a flight deck unit to it.

WoW !!!! Can think of a couple of 6mm SF Armies that can use those ! thumbs up

boy wundyr x23 Apr 2015 6:55 a.m. PST

I would buy some!

wminsing23 Apr 2015 7:10 a.m. PST

Yes, a 'tall' and a 'short' wagon would make sense to allow for super-firing weapons. VERY cool concept though, bravo!

A top that has 2-3 flank-facing turrets on each side would be interesting, as well as an ICBM silo-type top. Adding a few hovercraft or tracked units to escort the thing might be fun, too. :)

What about the landing pad top for all those Squat Gyrocopters out there…?

sharkbait23 Apr 2015 4:58 p.m. PST

Looks pretty awesome to me.

Covert Walrus23 Apr 2015 5:27 p.m. PST

YES! Though a Fixed VLS topper and an Artillery topper would be welcome as well, more vehicles in this style would be most excellent! :)

MiniatureReview24 Apr 2015 8:48 a.m. PST

BOLO!!!!

I agree the first section should be lowered so that the second section could fire forward.

Looks fantastic otherwise.

Artraccoon24 Apr 2015 9:37 a.m. PST

There's some fellows down in Austin that claim that such a miniature isn't marketable and isn't in demand, I hope you prove them wrong.

David in Coffs25 Apr 2015 3:19 a.m. PST

I'll buy some!

David in Coffs25 Apr 2015 3:22 a.m. PST

Rather than lowering the front and rear units – make a riser that can be added to any unit to all for the stepped look.

MicroWorld Games25 Apr 2015 8:10 a.m. PST

Okay, based on my own lists and some of the requests above, additional attachments will be:

Internally launched large cruise missile topper,
helipad topper for spotter/gunship,
smaller secondary turret topper (with many little turrets on it),
Stacker piece to raise the level of guns in rear modules

Other things I am seriously considering:
Long-barreled artillery gun topper?
"Squished" forward module, this way the front could be squished, the middle normal height, then you could just add stackers to the rear modules and that would enable all guns to fire forward.

Additional small vehicles will definitely be made, though I think I may have to release the super tank + extensions alone first to fund the printing and molding of the little vehicles.

As an aside, the tracks are separate pieces and will be sold separately.

A lot will depend on price, especially give the bad feelings some individuals have toward SJGames after their actions managing the official miniatures line

Covert Walrus26 Apr 2015 3:57 p.m. PST

Optional field, you misspelled "Mismanaging" :)

MicroWorld, good ideas all. Might I also add that a personnel bunker/carrier module might be of interest, or a drone unit ( Small vehicles or walker unit) carrying module?

Deltapax126 Apr 2015 7:07 p.m. PST

Additional topper suggestion; some kind of array looking thing to represent a shield generator
Additional unit suggestion; Some kind of repair bay, maybe something twice the length of a regular unit, with some kind of crane arms or what-naught, to build a support tank version.

David in Coffs27 Apr 2015 2:21 a.m. PST

Suggestion – add on to the front "jaws/ wreckers/excavator" to make a engineering, mining or scavenger unit.

David in Coffs27 Apr 2015 2:29 a.m. PST

I'll also buy supporting units I the same style.

David in Coffs27 Apr 2015 2:37 a.m. PST

Arrggggggg my mind has exploded! Could we have a " bridging" spacer that will allow two units to be side by side thus we could have the long train look (1x2 1x3 etc) and the mega wide look (2x2 2x3 etc)

I can see this may get out of hand very quickly – NURSE quick bring me my blue pills! ;-)

David in Coffs27 Apr 2015 2:38 a.m. PST

Ps the bridging spacer could also make for a ground fortress.

mdauben27 Apr 2015 6:59 a.m. PST

Those are some great looking renderings, and I love the idea of a modular supertanks! I would definitely buy a couple of these.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP In the TMP Dawghouse27 Apr 2015 9:07 a.m. PST

As I has said, I have so MicroWorld models. They make some very nice stuff ! Plus they carry some DRM minis as well …

wminsing27 Apr 2015 1:19 p.m. PST

Ah, another idea would be some sort of Sensor/Jammer/Electronic Warfare platform!

-Will

David in Coffs27 Apr 2015 2:04 p.m. PST

The blue pills have worked – the bridging toppers should be side mount joiners that could then have toppers added to the top of them. Thus allowing the tracked units to have toppers and the joiner also as side mount joiners you could have 3x3 mobile fortresses that rise up from the outside units ziggurat fashion. Just a suggestion.

David in Coffs28 Apr 2015 6:59 p.m. PST

If the bridging between side by side units also could slot in where the tracks attach on units then you can " stack" hull units _-_

Tertius01 May 2015 8:06 a.m. PST

Oooh. Very nice.

Covert Walrus06 May 2015 8:23 p.m. PST

Any progress on this? Yes, I'm impatient.

mashrewba07 May 2015 10:53 a.m. PST

'Blue pills' -Viagra -surely not!! evil grin

David in Coffs07 May 2015 4:55 p.m. PST

Nursey doesn't say… But I am definately excited by the figures that I see. >;->~

MicroWorld Games07 May 2015 5:49 p.m. PST

The sculptor is busy for the next 5 weeks or so, but then will start working on the rest of attachments and the little vehicles.

In the meantime I am getting some of the parts printed. I will post some preview shots of the prints when they come in.

David in Coffs07 May 2015 7:23 p.m. PST

Matron! Another cold shower is needed!

Covert Walrus15 Jun 2015 3:15 a.m. PST

We are about 5 weeks later – Any progress to report? :)

David in Coffs16 Jun 2015 4:40 a.m. PST

Yep – definately you are "impatient" ;-)
But then so am I!

MicroWorld Games27 Jun 2015 8:59 a.m. PST

I got the first set of prints in the mail. Beautiful prints, well worth the money.

The sculptor should be started on the rest of the Supertank attachments and the first wave of "little friends".

Do people want infantry to go with these? What style? There is already so much 6mm infantry on the market, but oddly enough, infantry always sells better than vehicles for me.

Anyway, enjoy the prints!

Love it! Can't wait for it to be available.

Not sure about infantry, as you say there is lots, but I think alien types is where there's still room for more. Maybe some insectoid types, or starfish types. Maybe just funky power armor types.

Chris

KJdidit28 Jun 2015 5:58 p.m. PST

I think your Foundationists Power Armor troops would fit perfectly with these.

Covert Walrus28 Jun 2015 6:53 p.m. PST

Agreed, the Foundationist PA are a great match.

Also agree with By wundyr on alien infantry, though would also add Ophidians to that. :)

David in Coffs29 Jun 2015 5:45 a.m. PST

Extremely nice!
I look forward to buying a few.

mdauben29 Jun 2015 7:18 a.m. PST

Really great looking! I'm terribly tempted to buy a couple of these when they become available and start building a pair or armies around them.
