Hi guys

Just finished this commission for 28mm Perry Highlanders as the Black Watch (I will have painted this unit 3 times in 2 different scale by the end of next week) as usual Perry figs are great, although there are a couple little areas were the mould looks worn.

Very nice, I have done the Black watch myself and know how time consuming and tricky the detail can be. You've done them proud

Very Nice Gunner.

I stay 30 minutes away from the Black Watch museum. I keep meaning to sneak a camera in.

My question are you going to game with them?

Gunner Dunbar29 Apr 2015 4:59 p.m. PST

They were a commission, I presume the owner will game with them.

Lord Hill29 Apr 2015 5:01 p.m. PST

Great stuff – I don't know how you can part with them after all that skillful work!

archiduque01 May 2015 6:29 a.m. PST

Lol!
And then you've got the AWI version to look forward to.
These ones are great

Gunner Dunbar13 May 2015 2:42 a.m. PST

Hi Scott, actually looking forward to doing the AWI version, they are differant enough to make it interesting.

spontoon24 May 2015 3:47 p.m. PST

I don't believe the Black Watch had their pipers in Royal Stuart tartan yet. More of a Victorian thing.

I've pictures on my blog of re-enactors at the Black Watch Museum last week. You can see from these how dark the tartan appeared.

The pictures are all taken with a flash, the kilts are darker in person.
