Here is the official video for the upcoming movie Kung Fury:

YouTube link

For those who don't know Kung Fury is a Kickstarter funded movie by the Swedish filmmaker David Sandberg.

Plot: "Miami-Dade Police Department detective and martial artist Kung Fury timetravels from the 1980s to World War II to kill Adolf Hitler, a.k.a. "Kung Führer", and avenge his friend's death at the hands of the Nazi leader. An error in the time machine sends him further back to the Viking Age. With the help of a female Viking and the Norse God Thor, Kung Fury continues his time travels in order to put an end to the Third Reich once and for all."

Offical blurb: "KUNG FURY is an over-the-top action comedy written and directed by David Sandberg. The movie features: arcade-robots, dinosaurs, nazis, vikings, norse gods, mutants and a super kung fu-cop called Kung Fury, all wrapped up in an 80s style action packed adventure.

Kung Fury takes place in a variety of exotic locations; 1980s Miami, Asgard and Germany in the 1940s, to name a few. With a limited budget to work with, we had to solve this by shooting most of the scenes against a greenscreen backdrop. "

The Hoff is awesome!

The film looks like utter drivel; Hasselhoff totally steals the show. Add him in as the star and lose the tiresome nazi plot, set the film in the world of the music video's 80's punk apocalypse and you'd have an enjoyable piece of trashy action.

Perhaps it will debut in Portland. Check out "Portlandia" theme song to see what I mean.

The horror… the sheer cheesy horror…

Methinks Mr Sandberg has been watching the most recent series of Danger 5.

I can see how those elements could be funny. The 80s were ripe for parody. However … from the trailer I'm not sure that was achieved.

Agreed.

Are you aware he's going to be in Sharknado 3?
