All, I'm posting this to show I finished all my stuff up for KG Klink's invasion of France, but then it's not quite true as I decided, perfectly last minute-like, that I wanted more vehicles. I contacted The Warstore, and not only were they super helpful in answering some product inventory queries I had, but I placed my order Tuesday and they were waiting for me on Thursday when I got home. So I've got about another 15 vehicles to finish up, all German except for two more French Char B1 bis. But all the stuff I previously ordered is now ready ;) And the invasion begins this weekend regardless (I don't need any of the stuff I just received for the first fight). So relax and take a look around.
Here's the whole thing: I ordered a Pendraken halftrack and made up a French command stand, used some spare infantry to make some more 'heroes.' The Brits got a Pendraken truck, officer, and 'Monty' figure to make a command stand, two Pendraken 2-pounder anti-tank guns, a Pendraken Matilda II (to go with the Cruiser, two Matilda Is, two Vickers, and three armored cars), three Pendraken Vickers machine guns, and three Engineer stands (also Pendraken). I got some Allied and German surrendering guys and dismounted tank commanders. The Germans got another PzJgr I and five assault boats for crossing the Meuse and Somme. For more pics, please visit the blog at: link Again, I say again, stand by, the invasion of France kicks off this weekend. V/R, Jack |

I got some Allied and German surrendering guys I get the feeling that the Allied ones will be seeing a lot of use. I can't wait until Klink gets to dance with Matilda. |

I certainly hope you're right on the former, and I'm not looking forward to the latter. Patiently waiting on photos of your toys and games, Sir ;) V/R, Jack |

LOL! Still working on them. But here's my 15mm sci-fi stuff: link I'm going 3mm for Brigade, but I'm leaning 15mm for Company… sort of torn between 15mm and 6mm. I have a lot of 15mm infantry, but I have a full company of UK tanks and infantry in 6mm. Decisions, decisions… |

I heard 10mm is cool ;) And if you're worried about terrain, I use 15mm terrain with my 10mm guys, so you don't have to buy new stuff. But I agree with your concept of Brigade at 3mm and Company at 6mm or 15mm. I'm not much for Sci-Fi stuff, but yours looks great, and I get on board with it as, to me, it looked more 'very near future' than super Sci-Fi. I saw you mentioned Glen Burnie; before I came to Texas I was in Elkridge. It's funny, because when I lived there didn't wargame, and there's apparently wargamers everywhere. Now I am, but there's not very many folks/stores here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area… V/R, Jack |

Yeah, so I hear. I've dabbled with it a bit when I was deciding what scale to use. I have a few bits- some minifigs USMC and a WWI MK1V. I like the scale, but it's a challenging scale to find toys in. Not so much now, but it was several years ago when I decided to move from 25-28mm. 15 mike is my scale now and I'm happy enough with it. I'm going 3mm because it's cheap and the terrain requirements are, to me anyway, easy enough. Heck, you can use Monopoly houses! Yup, Maryland is a great place for gaming. But then again, Avalon Hill was here ages ago! So there is still a gaming scene here. Being a teacher and a dad of young kids does restrict my gaming availability a lot. I love near-future sci-fi. I blame Aliens and Battletech for that. Sci-fi with blasters and laser swords… not my thing. But toss in pulse rifles and mecha and you've got me! However I'm more moving to WWII and Modern stuff right now. But I have tons of sci-fi that I'll get back to. I have a huge Neo-Soviet force just waiting for time with the brush. That will be this summer's project. In the meantime, I'm getting my company and brigade moderns up and going. The 3 mike stuff should be easy enough to do. The 15mm will take longer. |
