"Maelstrom's Edge is a next generation, squad based tabletop wargame set in a gritty science fiction universe of desperate survival. Players will be thrust into a fast, tactical game full of action and consequence, where every moment counts, and where there is always a way to change the game. No game is complete without a compelling setting, and we've worked hard to create a detailed and original universe for our players to explore, with deep science fiction worldbuilding and exciting, professionally written fiction. The game will be launching on Kickstarter at the end of April, so be sure to sign up or follow us on facebook to be notified of when you can get your copy ordered. If you want to jump in to the Maelstrom's Edge universe right away, you can buy our first two novels on amazon right now…"

No to the first group of miniatures, yes to the second group. |

So, this is the prequel to Vor: The Maelstrom then, eh? Seeing that they are planning to go hard plastic from the get-go makes me think I actually might like to get a box of Karists. Bori… Sorry, traditional as they are, aestheticswise. The full game, not so much. Couldn't find any info on who's involved tho, apart from authors of their tie-in novels, which isn't necessarily a good sign. |

Just failed to edit the previous message to add that the Epirians look mighty familiar -- more so than is normal for basic gritty scifi troopers that do tend to be plenty generic. Can't place them ATM tho. But I'll add it to "doesn't inspire confidence" stack anyway. |

meh…. not enough info. How many of 'the finest new dynamic 28mm sci-fi skirmish' games have I seen come and go over the past ten years? How many have made it longer than twelve months and a handful of sprues/figures? Still, bets of luck. |

Isn't this one by the owners of the Dakka Dakka website? So to go through the basics…. I've no interest in any kickstarter. I'll look at this again if they get an actual product out and available. I hope they don't go the GW price route, if so I've no interest in them at all….more than enough over priced figures I will not buying out already, thank you. |

There is a discussion on Dakka Dakka about this, the first post has a lot more info and pictures. link It seems that they already have a UK stockist, which would be a plus for me. |

I was just saying the other day that there weren't enough human scifi troops on the market in chaps… |

The Dakka connection I suppose explains everything else I found odd about this but not the familiarty of the chaps in chaps. Maybe thye've been "leaked" sometime over the course of the three- year development? |
