Well we flew another mission from the 8th Airforce scenario book campaign. The Germans where trailing badly having lost quit a few of the previous scenarios, of course there are not documents surviving telling the historic story of the German defense of the father land.

Well this was a big scenario we had three german players Me, Michael and Henrik with 10 planes, 4 x M110, 2 x Me 410 and 4 x 109s (the 109s where the top cover where they stayed and indeed kept the top safe, of course they where commanded by Abler Habler TC)

The US had 4 x P47s (flying tanks!!!!) 2 P38s and these where defending 8 B17s They where flown by Stefan and Jens III

The game begins well with the P47s out of postion above the fighting, the P38s where even higher and of course the german Top Cover (which stayed pretty much there, the green pilot could not find the down button)

We attacked me on the right of the B17 formations with two Me 410s and Michael on the left with 4 Me 110s. Of course Michael thought flying head on would be good idea well that did not work.

Well that did not work out to well!

And for a better look at what remains of Michaels ME 110 here you go.

On the Right of the B17 formation I close in with two Me 410s against the outer most B17, the P47s are little worrying as they dive towards my planes.

The deadly turn ends with two B17s destroyed. I think Jens shed a tear or two as the B17s came apart.

And a couple of close ups for Jens, the end of a B17, we have not seen this often in our campaign.

After the two B17 kills the P 47s close in, however, Stefan forgot his rabbit in his pants and he missed every shot he had, rolling like Jens Glad. Thank god for us.

One of the B17s takes a hit from the Me 110.

The rest of the battle was down hill for the US, they ended up lossing 4 B17s and one P38 (not sure on the P38 it was hit I recall but not sure if it was destroyed)

The germans ended up in the ahead in the campaign by 2pts and on the special table the would be able to send an allied plane home but it would cost 2 Victory points.

The campaign so far, the US have won 4 scenarios and germans have won 2. This was scenario 7.

Looks good!

Thanks for sharing your battle reports.

I need to break out the heavy bombers one day as well.

Guys – thanks for the battle reports. This is one of my favorite scenario books. In one campaign playtest the end result was less than 10vps different. Hope you enjoy playing the book as much as we did.

Cheers
Scott

Great AAR.

What models and stands are you using? The 110Gs look like they have some good detail on the nose radar.

And the telescopic stands+ magnets: are they from CorSec?

WKeyser15 Apr 2015 2:52 a.m. PST

The stands are made by me, if you search the forum for my posts you will find directions on construction.

The Me 110 nose radar is scratch built

The B17s are scotia, Me109s are GHQ, the P47s C in C. P38s GHQ, Me 410s Scotia. The Me110s are C in C.
