I'm planning to get the Mighty Fortress rules soon, as well as whatever aeroplanes can be used. I've found a picture of the back cover, so I know which aircraft are available, but I'd like to know how they're organised, just so that I know what quantities to get.

By that stage of the war all fighter units flew in pairs/fours. I would suggest that you pick up a couple of packs for each type of fighter this would give you twelve or eight depending on the size. The building block for the US heavies was a cell of six. I would guess that this would be the smallest unit you could really get away with.

Well, the idea is that the within the rules, aeroplanes are organised into sections to determine victory target, but as I don't currently have them, I'd like to know what section size they use so that I don't have an excess or deficit of certain planes when I make my order. It does seem that it groups fighters in 2s/4s and heavies in 3s, judging by the starter pack provided (4 P-51, 4 Me262 and 3 B-17), but as it doesn't include mediums or lights, I'd like to know how those are organised within the rules.

I would guess that all bombers would be in threes. I don't actually own the WW II sets and will probably go for the Battle of Britain set when I do.

I guess I'll have to assume so. Thanks, Fatman!
