link Afternoon Boys and Girls, A little bit of ECW to tickle your fancy today. Another "forgotten" collection made it out onto the table last week. I have broken the game down into two posts a Scenario / Set Up post (this one !) and later in the week I'll put up an AAR. I find shorter posts on other blogs easier to concentrate on so prefer to break down the games into two posts, that and its an excuse to double the number of photographs. Apologies for any Royalist bias in the post, God Save the King ! Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

Interesting. What makes this scenario specifically for 28mm? |

Hi Major B, nothing in particular ties it to 28mm thats the scale we played it in, by all means have a crack at it in another scale, you will most likely only need to rescale the map and off you go. Enjoy, Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

Hi Robo54, Its a home brew version of Forlorn Hope modified to fit our exacting standards, or cobbled together over years of arguing which ever you prefer. We've basically gone to a d6 casualty system speeding the game up. Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

There is nothing wrong with a "Royalist bias", sir. 'Tis only right after all. -- Jeff

Cheers Jeff, Always good to hear from another Royalist ! Watching the buffoonery of politicians during the election here in the UK at the moment makes me wonder about our system. A history teacher of mine many years ago said this to me, it stuck in my head "If you have a bad King or Queen you have to wait for them to die and then you have a chance of a good King or Queen. If you have a Politician then you can vote them out every few yearss but then all you get is another politician" Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

Great stuff, Ken. Not a period I do personally, but we have some rather lovely 15mm collections available – would you mind if I 'borrowed' the scenario? |

Hi Caliban, No problems at all mate, thats why I put stuff up, to hopefully inspire, let me know how you get on, I'll put my AAR this week, it was a close run thing. Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

Great stuff- I am ,looking forward to part 2. This is the first time I have seen Tillier's foote on the tabletop. The first ECW regiment I painted was Tilliers. I was wondering what flag you used for Broughton's; coat colours were green too? |

Great looking game and AAR. God Save the King and his preferred 28mm figures! |

Hi Codsticker, I don't have a specific Broughtons Foot unit in my army, I recall researching the army at the time I painted it, best evidence is green coats for Broughtons but I don't think I could find flag details at the time. They were of course at Newark and I used Rivers Foot (black coats) to represent them. Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

best evidence is green coats for Broughtons but I don't think I could find flag details at the time. Same here… I was hoping you might have discovered some flag colours. |
