How about Frontier 15mm. I have lots of these. |

Hey Hal! I was looking for current ranges (i.e. – those currently in production)…Frontier has been unavailable, as far as I know, for years now. Added Imex and Scruby to the list…thanks! |

Boot Hill 28mm – excellent figures |
Buckeye AKA Darryl | 08 Apr 2015 6:13 p.m. PST |
Boot Hill is for Texas/Alamo…correct? If so, then that isn't (splitting hairs here) truly Mex-Am, unless they are also making US troops now. I just took a look, they are making Mexicans (but the TWI saw a bit of a different Mexican uniform IIRC) but no Yanks. I think I will keep them off the list for now, although they are indeed some stunning figures! |

As far as Imex goes, I'd say they make a pack rather than a range. They make an Alamo range, they make a sole MAW infantry box. Irregular makes a 6mm Alamo line which you could use for the MAW; when you go this small, I don't think you can really tell an Alamo shako from a MAW shako, but YMMV. It is not a dedicated MAW range, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone is interested. |

TVAG's Splendid Little Warriors have already completed 15mm mounted personality figures for Zachary Taylor, Winfield Scott, and Santa Anna. The set of Soldadera's is about half finished, and a Mexican military band is next, as well as several other support sets (Priests, Santa Anna's Coach, etc) are next in line. These should be available by this summer, hopefully when "Gone To See The Elephant" is released as well. So, don't add them to that excellent list yet, but keep an space open for them! TVAG |

Dixon has 25mm Alamo-period figures--some of which may be useful. |

There was also a 25 mm Minifig range but I don't know if they are still being made. |

I couldn't find Minifigs 25s on their site when I looked, but, going back to their site, I see they are listed under their "Colonial Wars" range so yes, they make both 15 and 25mm MAW figs. |
Buckeye AKA Darryl | 09 Apr 2015 9:32 a.m. PST |
I've added the Minifigs 25mm to my list…I could not find them myself until 79th pointed the way. As for Dixon, useful, but not a "full" Mexican-American War range. Same with IMEX…more of Alamo-centric and not covering the MAW. Looking forward to the TVAG offerings, but as I have quite the Eureka collection, I doubt if any other ranges will blend with Eureka. I've sent an email to the Frontier UK site…not certain if they are still in business. Guess not…the email bounced. Updated list: 1st Corps Limited – 28mm Blue Moon Miniatures – 15mm/18mm Eureka Miniatures – 18mm Frei Korps 15 – 15mm Gringo 40s – 40mm Historifigs – 25mm Miniature Figurines – 15mm Miniature Figurines – 25mm Musket Miniatures – 15mm Old Glory 15s – 15mm Old Glory Miniatures – 28mm |

Dear Darryl, I'm afraid you're right about the nascent TVAG line of figures not made by anyone else for the MAW will be closer to "true" 15's, and so will look pretty Munchkin-ish in the presence of the superb but frustratingly unique Eureka's. So, at the decided risk of tooting my own DeGuello, do you think your list of figure manufacturers in all scales/mediums could be expanded to include specific lines of supporting products? For example, Musket Miniatures has a wonderful line of 15mm buildings for the MAW, and there may be others as well. And, of course, TVAG offers the complete North American and Mexican Flags Collection in every scale (save the 40mm for now) you have listed. Of course Battle Flag presumably still sells those they plagiarized from us, so they might be left off such a list. In any case, the figure collection we have locally available includes at least some examples of every 15mm manufacturer listed so far. All have their own unique features, and some have failings (notably the Old Glory 15mm Mexican 1st Cavalry Regiment), but among these ranges it is possible to find every Mexican uniform type, Horse, Foot, and Guns, required to represent every unit in the Army. Alas, this is not true in any of the other scales as yet, at least. Good Work, Bugler! TVAG |

No mention of Artizan? link |
Buckeye AKA Darryl | 09 Apr 2015 6:53 p.m. PST |
Alas, Artizan doesn't make Mexican-American War figures…just Alamo, and the list is for MAW…although I might expand it to Alamo some day. :) TVAG – I like your thinking, but that then becomes quite the chore…just about any company making Middle Eastern village buildings could be on the list (and there are numerous companies making them) as they, to me at least, are very much like adobe houses from the Nineteenth Century. Add in flags and then it really becomes a heck of a list! I have two ulterior motives for compiling the list…one will remain a mystery for awhile, but the other is my new blog: foragecaps.blogspot.com |
