My dear Tango01 I've never said he was an important personaje in the Star Wars Saga I like this character and let's leave it at that.

I have my reasons for liking Jar Jar Binks and those reasons are my own and I do not wish to post them here because I know that they'll be twisted so please respect my wishes on this matter.

DB Draft01 May 2015 4:12 a.m. PST

Thanks Captain Gideon, apology accepted. Can we all just accept the fact that different things have different values for different people? I would still prefer to read about actual Star Wars models and games at TMP. Having recently rewatched Episodes 1 – 3 I actually enjoyed them more than I initially did. This is largely due to watching the Clone Wars animated series as it is nice to see the overlap and development of ALL characters involved.

Servo300001 May 2015 8:29 a.m. PST

Captain, I've heard it from friends; in this thread, see Twinmirror's comment as well. I didn't say I subscribe to the theory myself. The prequels and Jar-Jar made me appreciate Episodes 4-6 even more. I do applaud your steadfast defense of the Gungan, even if I can't generate any enthusiasm for him.

Captain Gideon01 May 2015 4:11 p.m. PST

Thanks Servo3000 for you words and your explanation which makes sense.

And DB Draft I understand where you're coming from on your views regarding Star Wars and I can close the book on our problem.

Jar Jar is dead.

Captain Gideon02 May 2016 1:12 p.m. PST

Doctor X that's not to fly anymore so stop saying that Jar Jar is Dead.

Captain Gideon02 May 2016 1:19 p.m. PST

Cyrus the Great what's this all about do you think this picture of a dead Gungan(if that's what it is)is Jar Jar?

Gnubrid02 May 2016 2:28 p.m. PST

This is probably the most surreal thread I ever stumbled across here on TMP. Thanks for the laughs.

Captain Gideon02 May 2016 3:06 p.m. PST

Gnubrid I'm glad you had some laughs but for me it's not very funny.

You have no idea what I've had to deal with on TMP because I like Jar Jar Binks and I've gone thru a lot here like verbal abuse over the last year or two but I won't go into that.

Brother Jim02 May 2016 4:27 p.m. PST

Don't worry Captain Gideon, you'll have the last laugh as they reveal at the end of Episode 9 that Jar Jar went Darkside and was Snokes Master.

And that he fooled Snokes into thinking he had killed him, but he's going to be the big bad in the next set of movies.
;)

Cyrus the Great03 May 2016 9:50 a.m. PST

Cyrus the Great what's this all about do you think this picture of a dead Gungan(if that's what it is)is Jar Jar?

Have you not heard? This is a picture of Jar Jar. He has embraced the dark side.
Reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated.

Now feel the POWER of Jar Jar!

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP03 May 2016 11:19 p.m. PST

Still dead.

Captain Gideon04 May 2016 7:23 a.m. PST

Doc how long do you intend to keep up this lie that you believe?

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP04 May 2016 3:32 p.m. PST

May the Fourth Be With You!

And this just in…Generalissimo Jar Jar Binks is still dead.

Captain Gideon04 May 2016 4:35 p.m. PST

Have you heard the news Jar Jar Binks is ALIVE and well so all this negative talk is complete BS.

P.S. And that's BOMBAD General Jar Jar Binks to you Doc.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP05 May 2016 11:05 a.m. PST

That's DEAD Jar Jar Binks to you.

Captain Gideon05 May 2016 1:07 p.m. PST

THAT'S ALIVE JAR JAR BINKS TO YOU.

Captain Gideon05 May 2016 1:25 p.m. PST

Doc if you want me to stop then you stop and we can both go on our merry ways.

So will you accept?

Frederick the not so great05 May 2016 1:31 p.m. PST

Pass the popcorn, I ran out.

TamsinP05 May 2016 2:49 p.m. PST

Well, as:
1. Gungans have an average lifespan of 65 Galactic Standard years (according to Wookieepedia)
2. The events of Phantom Menace where JJB would appear to be a young adult (early 20s?) were 32 years before A New Hope
3. The Force Awakens is set 34 years after that

This would mean that JJB would either be incredibly old for a Gungan or sadly/happily deceased, depending on your point of view. Either way, we are incredibly unlikely to be blessed/cursed with his presence in the current trilogy of films.

However, I suppose it is possible that he may still make an appearance in one of the other films they are producing as they seem to be set slightly before A New Hope, but if he does appear he'd almost be a pensioner.

Captain Gideon05 May 2016 3:15 p.m. PST

TamsinP you make valid points but you forgot one thing Cloning.

So if(and that's a big if) Jar Jar has passed on Cloning can keep him going so one way or the other we'll have Jar Jar Binks with us for quite some time to come.

Cyrus the Great05 May 2016 9:15 p.m. PST

So Jar Jar would be living in his own private Duncan Idaho!

Captain Gideon05 May 2016 9:25 p.m. PST

Cyrus are you referring to the Dune character?

And if so why?

Cyrus the Great05 May 2016 10:57 p.m. PST

Yes, Duncan Idaho was cloned more times than I can count. There's also a reference to a B52's song.

Captain Gideon06 May 2016 8:02 a.m. PST

Why would you mention him and not Jango Fett?

Why didn't you stick with Star Wars?

Captain Gideon06 May 2016 8:15 a.m. PST

I have a good idea how about that we all stop posting on this thread and let it die a quiet death.

I think many people would think that best because I'm not changing my views and most(if not all)of you aren't changing your views.

So if this works then this post will be the LAST post.

I hope this works and if not then who knows but I think it's best to end this and the other topic.

Ghostrunner06 May 2016 10:26 a.m. PST

Now that you've declared the discussion over in two threads, guess we can all go home.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP06 May 2016 1:46 p.m. PST

Especially since proof of death was provided in the other thread.

Captain Gideon06 May 2016 2:09 p.m. PST

I somewhat had a feeling that you wouldn't let this go quietly away but you had to do it didn't you.

Doc you know what you can do with your lame ass proof.

And Ghostrunner words fail me about you so I won't even try.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP06 May 2016 2:17 p.m. PST

I defer to the other thread.

Captain Gideon06 May 2016 2:20 p.m. PST

As do I.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP06 May 2016 5:33 p.m. PST

Alrighty then.

Gnubrid09 May 2016 12:44 p.m. PST
