So anyone try this? whats the verdict? Does it have any features that make it stand out? or will we forget it exists in a year?

I am having a blast playing it at the moment. The rules are simple enough to pick up quickly, but there is plenty of tactical depth to keep it interesting.

The use of leaders and leadership is what makes it stand out in my opinion.

what do you think the optimal table size is? Also how many figures per side in a medium size game? Do you think they will still be coming out with new releases 1 or 2 years from now? Thanks for the info!

This thread just gave me incentive to play.
On a 3 by 3 table we started in one corner each. I was playing as Teknes and my unlikely opponent (dear daughter) played as Shael Han, she likes the look of them and they are the only two starter set factions I have mostly assembled so far.
The book is big and awesomely set up with superb images.we had a slow start but after a while got used to the coordinated special leader with squad movement. The cards make everything much simpler during gameplay and we like the combat result chart on the cards to resolve fighting.
Took a couple of hours and it flew by , she wants to play again which is a good sign especially as boardgames like WarhammerQuest and super dungeon explore are her normal route to gaming.
Two things stood out for me . The way you use the leaders and minion troops seems to be a sort of out move out trump feel which gets better the more you learn a faction.
Secondly The figures really are unique and styled in a sort of anime mythical way (they appealed to my daughter otherwise I would not have had a game).
Personally it will exist for me as an escape game with the kids . Not sure if it will dislodge others from the many fantasy.skirmish systems out there.

For some strange reason it reminded me of the reaper warlord games I played years ago but the mechanics are different. Perhaps it was the fun and visual appeal which are winners for this system.
I reckon you should focus on one or two factions only as they will take a while to master , we noticed these two played differently in game.
I have promised not to use Shael Han from now on and the boy showed interest in the Hadross faction. This shows that it is a good spectator game and you could easily have a 2 v 2 sharing a faction games too.
Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the details. A friend gas this and I have a bunch of Cobfrobtation Wulfen. I think I'll be good with those…
