I recently started work on making some scratchbuilt light guns, using surplus kit parts, wire and plastic card.

Excellent! JB models used to make them in 1/76 it may be that Airfix has the moulds.

The Airfix (Ex JB Models as David points out) kit contains two guns, each with two barrels so you can make the US or UK version of the guns.
