Been doing a lot of taking care of the old folks of late and I have had odd snatches of down time where I could sneak off to the work bench.

So I have done some thinking and there are a lot of Mogadishu or Somalia type games and scenarios but I decided on a different flavour, so I tried to figure out ways to get either AMISOM or African Union troops involved.

My first platoon is Stan Johansens modern Iraquis. Simple enough. Paint them in either a US woodland or the French CE equivalent, black flesh and wood furniture on the AKs in a picnic table orange shade to give that new feel. They turned out very well.

For my next platoon, I had a number of left over Mongrel Pakistanis. Using GB Bleeped text British heads or was it even Fallshirmjager helmets (?) and a drill press they became Kenyans with G3s. They turned out really well too, only I couldn't get the British disruptive pattern as well as I wanted.

My latest batch is a platoon of Junglerot Aussies who have been decapitated and been given new life with US PASGT helmets. These should be good as Nigerians. They are waiting for a plain olive green uniform.

Never thought that I would get this far with three platoons of 28mms. There are a number of great blogs out there with modern african scenarios that have inspired me, and I thank you all very much.

Anyone have any other ideas?
