Those are beautiful. I espeylike the mounted leader. That's one of the best sculpted faces I've ever see on a wargame figure. A lot of character.

looking great.

The only one slight criticism are the camels marching in step.. the rest is so superb that it seems a pity not to have a camel variant…

But the rest … GORGEOUS!!!!!

Anyone know what range these Afghans are for? I couldn't find that on the Westfalia site.

Tango0131 Mar 2015 10:46 a.m. PST

Happy you like them my friends!. (smile)

I typed in 'afghan' in the search block and it listed these three sets but said they were out of stock.

Eclaireur01 Apr 2015 4:25 a.m. PST

And the search places them in the Napoleonics range !? Curiouser and curiouser.

What is the cockade that adorns the mounted commander's hat? They nmust have sourced this information from somewhere? Regardless, I really like the figures and would have no problem using them for the British Afghan Wars and want to buy some.

Very nice figures, intended as opponents and/or allies for their Napoleonic era Ottomans, hence listed as "Napoleonic". I believe these are all 1/72nd scale, though Westphalia has 28mm ranges also, so maybe there's a chance these will some day be available in 28mm.

The mtd. leader's hat seems more Persian than Afghan to me, but certainly could be based on contemporary reference I haven't seen before.

Cyrus the Great02 Apr 2015 3:44 p.m. PST

They are 28mm.

The "cockade" may not be official, see Mahommed Shah, King of Persia, c.1830 & Persian Man Wearing a Pale Blue Robe, 1842. I haven't seen it in other illustrations.

The Camel Train and the Afghan /Warriors are on my must have list!!

Excellent stuff!

Are there any plans to expand on the Afghan 'Tribal' range?

If they're 28mm as Cyrus says, I'll be buying them also.

I hate to say but I'm going to have to remove that outstanding Persian commanders head and replace it with a Pathan one, its too good a Command vignette to miss, love it, the Mule and everything, superb sculpting.

Looking on the Westphalia website all the historical minis have vanished. Anybody know what the outcome of this was and who may now have the ranges?

Black Hussar has the figure ranges now: link
