Obviously edited, to fit the Cracked style but seems authentic enough otherwise.

Might be a good reminder that the enemy is a lot more human than we like to think.

Thank you, that was a very good read.

Agreed, interesting article. Reminded me of Phred from Doonesbury.

Of course you posted this ;)

As for me, I didn't see anything really groundbreaking, and I was really turned off by whatever Bleeped text at Cracked thought it would be cool to add modern-day slang/humor. Please keep in mind the VC in question was 15 sometime in the 50s, putting him around seventy years old now…

I certainly love the idea of 'hearing from the other side,' so I give them an A for effort though.

V/R,
Jack

Yah, Cracked has a pretty particular style which can get pretty grating.

I guess if it's what it takes to get kids to pay attention, I'll take it.

I have to side with Jack. The style is just plain ridiculous, but IF they actually based it on an interview with a VC vet, kudos to them

They've been chasing down all sorts of interesting and unexpected people in the past year or so. I guess it's them trying to take on a bit of investigative journalism, but through their "dudebro" internet verbiage.

I get weaker, and every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger.

Interesting and irritating at the same time.

There's also "The Sorrow of War" by Bao Ninh who was an NVA regular. No "hip" slang involved.
