Title says it all. Trying to do San Martino 1859. I know legio Heroica does some beautiful 20mm but they wouldn't match. Any maker you can suggest? or similar units that I can convert? Thank you |

If you're looking for troops in the "bearskin" then Essex Miniatures do French Imperial Guard in their Franco-Prussian War range link They will require a bit of work to file down the baggy trousers but a decent paint job should hide the other details Alternatively head-swap the FPW heads with whatever line infantry figures you are using As an aside the French Imperial Guard Grenadiers had mostly "lost" their bearskins during the course of the 1859 campaign, mainly due to the heat, and were wearing the Bonnet de Police. You could therefore assume the same for the Sardinian Grenadiers and just have them in the standard Shako But where would be the fun in that? |

I believe Aude Historica have them in their range but I'm sure the postage from Italy would kill you. In fact, I don't even know if that company is still active anymore. I sent them an email a while back about some 1848 figures and never received a reply. |

I believe the Sardinian Grenadiers had the same basic uniform as the line infantry with the shako, no need for special figures |

I've had decent response time from Aude (usually a reply within a day or two), last time was just a couple of months ago. I believe this is what you seek, yes? You can find it on the Aude website: audehistorica.com link |
