Appears the Saudis are willing to fight the Iranian-backed guerrillas in Yemen: link Hopefully, we'll eventually decide to assist them, instead of providing CAS support for the Iranians in Iraq. |

Saw that on CNN late last night. Along with them deploying Tanks, FA, etc., along the border. And others in the near by area may also join the Saudis. I see this as a move in right direction. However, like the Turks and Jordanians, I will be much more positive if those forces rolled hot across their respective borders to hunt Daesh. While the Saudis hunt Houthis. Which is an intersting, yet not surprising situation. The Saudis are Sunni and hate the Iranians and their Shia' Houthis allies. Both the Turks and Jordan are Sunni, as is Daesh. But Daesh's version of "Sunni" is a very much corrupted version of islam. By anyone's standards. (Or so I'm am told ?) But Iran is supporting the Iraqi Shia' plus some Sunni Militias and let's not forget the actual Iraqi Security forces. Now with US CAS support for at least the Tikrit ops. And where are the Kurds ? Who are also Sunni … All to purge Daesh from at least Iraq … Again, you need a team roster and numbers to sort out who is who, etc. … If this was an old AH or SPI board wargame you'd have unit counter colors in all the shades of the rainbow and everything in between ! |

Maybe even "smart paper" counters that can change colors depending on day of the week. At the very least, you'd need two- or three-tone stripes on the counters! |
