After a long break I have gotten back to rule writing. I have done a complete overhaul of my modern/near future platoon level rules SNAFU. With this new version I decided to start from the ground up, as the mechanics in the older versions just weren't quite working. I have had a few test games and it seems to work quite well for what I want. That said, it is still in it's infant stages, so any feedback is greatly appreciated. It would be even better if someone else gave the game a go. A bit more on the rules: Units are 4 man fireteams (or smaller weapon teams), with the average force being a platoon of around 4-8 fireteams plus attached support. The rules are written with 15mm minis in mind, but I don't see why it couldn't work for other scales. Currently there are only infantry rules. Vehicle rules will come in the future. You can find the core rules (along with notes on using the rules for the Rhodesian Bush War) here: link For those who are not inclined towards yahoo groups, here is a dropbox link for the rules: link Thanks! |

Let's see here… A 2013 US Army platoon (Strykers or leg infantry) consists of a command team, 6x fireteams, and 2x LMG teams, for a total of 9 teams. Doesn't give you a lot of room for attachments! |

Note that I said AROUND 4 – 8 teams PLUS attachments on average. 4 teams would be quite a small game. I don't think 9 plus attachments is really going to break the game. |

Thanks. I'll try out the game soon. |
