Tis a sad tale indeed. He is my Norse King in a WFB army.
In a recent battle against my son's Lizard dudes, he punched a hole through the enemy center by making a daring charge across a river. He destroyed his enemy and charged the next unit – a crushing defeat. The enemy needed to roll 2 ones on 3 dice to rally; the enemy of course rolled all ones on 3 dice. Because he failed to defeat and pursue his opponent, he of course got attacked in the rear the next turn and defeated.
In the very next battle a week later, he had five attacks needing only 2+ to hit. Of course he rolled four ones. Needing a 3+ to wound on the one dice to hit, he failed that too.
Maybe some of you math guys can tell me the odds on that.
This is not the first time this sort of thing has happened in his half a dozen or so battles.
Of course, his soul mate Lagertha has a much better record. Perhaps I need to demote Ragnar to "Lackey" and let Lagertha be the general.

It's just because you want him to do so well!

Could be.
My older brother is a firm believer in being able to "karma" the dice.
My abilities seem to be calling it by – anything but a one and I am good
Practically guarantees a one.

My Abaddon the Despoiler figure is like that. He does okay with the Talon of Horus, but in the nearly 20 years I've had him I think he hasn't inflicted more than 5 wounds with Drach'nyen and it often wounds, or even kills, automatically when it hits.

Sometimes the dice Gods just laugh at you grin

My opponents would routinely slaughter the units I had most recently painted or were most excited about. It's the law of the game.

I had a Dwarf Thunderer unit that was guaranteed to die horribly each game.
