You think it might have started the decline of the dinosaur age in some areas, and that the KT asteroid was the final blow?

Read the article. They reckon it is at least 300 million years old (or older), so it occurred before dinosaurs evolved.

yes.. Estimates say it could be 500 million years old (or older) so I think it would have nothing to do with the end of the dinosaurs… It might have more to do with the Ordovician extinction or the late Devonian one..
