Thanks for the review. I saw a couple of other terrain mats by Cigar Box at Cold Wars. They were OK. This one looks really good. Not sure I would be jazzed about the brown "ridge" in the upper left corner. But otherwise, it looks like a very nice mat. |

Honestly I have to have another look myself at that "ridge". It did look somewhat un-natural actually now that I look at the video. Hmmm… |

Here are some pics of that ridge, as well as the Cigar Box Logo location on the mat.

That logo is a deal-breaker for me. I understand why they do it, but it has kept me (and will continue to keep me) from buying any of their mats. |

The logo doesn't bother me actually. It is pretty small – I have seen worse. I would just throw some terrain over it if that was important (like taking some kool pics or something). |

Logo kills it for me too. Put it on the underside. |
monger | 20 Mar 2015 2:56 p.m. PST |
The logo will actually not be seen at all if you lay it out on an actual 6' x 4'. Like I said in the video, the mat is actually larger than that so the logo is hanging off the edge. |

I like their matts (I have one and I'm going to buy two more) but it would be better on the underside. Depending on how much terrain you put under the matt, it can pull the logo up and into view. |

I picked up the cobblestone medieval mat 4x6 and it's pretty fantastic. |

Oh nice. Do you think the cobblestone may will work well with 15mm scale minis? |

I got the DBA double size mat, with terrain features on the side. Too bat it was half desert as only about 10% of DBA 3 armies are from Dry. I might just give is a light spray of green. The "green" half is quite yellow too. The terrain features work well. The woods are a top down view, so I put some model trees on top, but move if troops enter. Mine had no logo. I hated to cut it up as it made a nice blanket.
I kept each side as one piece, but taped off the 2 foot DBA battlefield.
Wish they would make just plain 2 foot sections, maybe two to a sheet, but in a more vibrant green. |

Hahhaaa… nice one Bob. I have to admit, it is quite soft. My cats would love it – not to mention certain others in my household. |

Re: the Cobblestone mat, the printed graphics are quite large even for 28mm, with each cobblestone about the size of a refrigerator in that scale. Compare that with an actual cobblestone which was about the size of a big loaf of bread. At 15mm, it would really stretch the imagination. |

Wow! Good to know. They really need to accommodate smaller scales. Cobbles are all the rage it seems these days. Thanks Patrick! Kurtus |

Certaily worth buying for some play testing that i'm soon to be involved in. Nick at North Star stocks them to order so not a problem to get one in the UK. Darrell. I have the three road junction matt and it is great. i used it for three different games at Cold Wars. I have no issue with the sing in the corner. i have numerous Hotz Matts and he does the same thing. Chris P |

No problems with pilling or grabbing at bases? |
monger | 14 Apr 2015 7:39 a.m. PST |
The material is fleece; very high quality. I have had no issues with "grabbing". However, depending on what you use for your bases on your miniatures, you *may* get some sliding on steep slopes. Depends on your lay-out as well. A very minor thing so far in my experience. For me the only thing I have had to adjust to the most was the fact the mats tend to be bright. This is mainly due to the fact I have almost always played on a med. to dark green board. Excellent product overall. Also, all this talk about the "logo" is silly. In all the games I have played using these mats I have yet to even see the logo on the top surface (even with a lot of elevation going on), and this with a 6' x 4' table. No need to even "hide" it with terrain. There is plenty of over-hang. |

I just ordered their standard green battlefield mat. Figured I would look at that one before committing to more purchases. Based on this, looks like I might buy the beachhead, tundra and desert mats too. |

One of the things I really like about these mats is that since they are made of a stretch fabric they drape nicely over hills. |
