One of the worst thing that flew. Most dangerous, hated by its crews. A failure.

Looks great though.

it was replaced by the TU-22M, which was a much better aircraft imho.

The Blinder must have been a real bear to do maintenance on those engines.

A very nice looking jet, but as correctly mentioned, it was hated by its crews.

One of the few modern bombers available in 1/600th scale, for your gaming pleasure, from Tumbling Dice.

That's probably the ugliest plane built by the Soviets…

Proof, if it wer needed, that Gerry Anderson was a Soviet mole…

As we all know – Gerry Anderson designed kit for the French Military:

Although he also did some work on the side for Fairey's

Let's not forget the equally classic Tu-98 and Tu-28/128 (Fiddler) series of aircraft.

chaos0xomega17 Mar 2015 9:55 p.m. PST

He did some work for the US too. M50 Ontos anyone?

Don't knock the Ontos!!! I'm thinking of buying the 1/35th version and kitbashing Davy Crockets to replace the 106's!

And if you say Gerry Anderson was responsible for those designs then the crews would all be female with purple hair.

Mako1118 Mar 2015 12:44 p.m. PST

Love the Fiddler.

Wish someone made it in 1/600th, in metal.

Jemima Fawr18 Mar 2015 3:05 p.m. PST

Skippy,

That's why the crews are invariably wearing helmets…

Love the Fiddler so much I got mine on Shapeways. Not sue I can stretch to some Backfires. How good is the Tumbling Dice Blinder?
