"The Air Force is set to award a contract in the coming months for what it's calling the Long Range Strike Bomber, which would replace some of the aging planes currently in use. While details about the new bomber are classified, here's a look at the current fleet."

Yup. Bomber fleet is getting old. I'm waiting for the announcement that some B52 pilot is flying the same bird his grandfather did. |

well, Russia has significantly less of Tu-95 and Tu-160, and quite a number of them is old. It is a question of resource, and the ability to be able to still performing the tasks they were designed for… |

Clever use of graphics to emphasize the aging of the bomber fleet. Even though we have only 13 more B-52s than B-1s, by spacing the plane icons 5 across versus 10 across it looks like we have more than twice as many "old" B-52s as "middle-aged" B-1s. |
