I've been slowly working my way through the set of Spacelords Civilians and Ship's Crew. I thought I'd done them all until I realized I'd forgotten the doctor. So one set is done and the other is almost done. Almost. And of course there are a few friends there too.

In this first shot you can see the pilot with a civilian (in sandals no less! on a desert world?! with sand? wait . . .) accompanied by a new/old squat. The three are discussing plans with the Lady Colorado and Sir Stanley.

Next up we have the street "punk" from the Spacelords line. I love the little monkey he has on his arm. Such an interesting contrast beetween the tough exterior and the soft heart that loves his furry friend. And with him are a pair of little demons (perhaps they were supposed to be snots, but I went red not green this time) that seem to be having far too much fun showing what they have in back. Those two have been in the bottom of a box so long it's not even funny.

Of course local law tends to take an interest in such things. These fellows were the security detail from the ship's crew. I painted them up as Logan's Space Port Security. (Or the "Spaceport Dicks.")

Of course it's useful to see them in contrast to the regular local constabulary.

Last but not least: a hint of things to come. I think he's looking for a site for his new temple complex.

Should be interesting to see how the Broken Bottle Buddhists and Techno Trapists down the road will react to new neighbors shaking the residents dow . . . excuse me soliciting donations from the faithful. Of course the local governor might have a hard time swallowing the idea that he should let the bug brothers register as a part of the official Imperial Cult (the standard practice of religious organizations along the Tartarus Rim to keep the Terrans happy) so this could be quite interesting indeed.

I love the look of the world you're creating in miniature. Good show!

Excellent stuff; great atmosphere. Details like the superb painting on the punk's monkey really make these shine.

Nice to see more of your work on these figs. Keep it up!

^mghFond, Rhoderic III and counting, ordinarybass,

Thank you! I'm pleased with them. After thirty odd years painting these things maybe I'm finally figuring it out.

^TwinMirror,

Also thank you. The monkey was a fun little detail. I love the way it softens that character up.

^Augustus,

Well, that poster is a little old. It might be out of date. I think the building to which it's attached is largely abandoned. But scouring sector constabulary records it seems that his warrant is still outstanding, though there are no recent leads or sightings. Maybe he's lying dead out in the desert somewhere. Or maybe he left the sector and moved to someone else's piece of space.
