After about 7 years of development, Optio, a diceless Ancients gaming system, is close to completion (touch wood). It uses a unique double square grid for movement, and a determinist but unpredictable combat system based on reduction of morale steps. I'll be putting up a website soon giving more details. Here is a link to a skirmish AAR which gives a nice overview of the system's main mechanisms. I'm currently looking for interested playtesters who like Ancients wargaming but are fed up with the vagaries of the dice. Any takers? |

Bolingar I would be interested in trying. Read the first part of the AAR. I like the concept, but seems like a lot of markers. Please email me at thom216 at yahoo dot com Thanks TOm |
