On another forum recently, we were having a bit of a discussion about modernisation of old platforms (prompted by the O8 release of a model for the Ukrainian T-64BM Bulat).

This got me thinking about a setting that has potential for opposition between some state of the art systems (as well as some older stuff too). To that end, I've I just posted some thoughts on the Persian Gulf States as a source for some interesting "what-if?" scenarios at my blog:

I'm interested to see if anyone has thought about / gamed any of these hypotheticals?

End Of last year We had a three player battle in Chernobyl area.
Two Russian billionaire funded groups versus the Russian army.
We had the Russian player fighting the two "gangs" .
Used combatzone rules ( others will work fine) and had good mix of Cold War And modern troops and vehicles.
The groups had to scavenge random markers and Russian had to stop them. Had a blast.
Could something similar be done in the Middle East but instead of scavenging Russian tech/secrets you could have recovery of artefacts a priority given current vandalism in the area?
