I have some news about Crescent Root's resin buildings I thought some of you might be interested in. I have several of their 15mm buildings and have been wanting to add to them, plus start collecting their 28mm line as well. But whenever I went to their website, over the last few months, Mark wasn't accepting orders for any of the resin stuff, just his (awesome) new line of MDF buildings.

I contacted Mark and found out that, much to my disappointment, he was discontinuing his resin products and changing over to all MDF.

So I did what any "normal(?)" gamer would do……I bought all his resin masters and the rights to manufacture them.
Anyway, what that means is that these fantastic buildings will once again be available for purchase, (but from my new company --The "Art" of Wargaming ---) in the very near future.

Mark will continue to sell his line of MDF buildings and will be adding numerous new items, so if it's MDF you're looking for then Crescent Root is definitely the place to go. But if you're like me and prefer the resin versions then you will have that option as well (or both!!).

It will be a little while before I start accepting orders. Mark is shipping his inventory to me but I will need to get the business up and running. And lastly there will be some new items for sale that Mark made the masters for but never reproduced.

I will keep you updated and will announce once I'm ready to start taking orders.

Sounds good! I need to complete my collection of buildings, so will be looking forward to your new business.

WarWizard04 Mar 2015 7:45 a.m. PST

That is very good news. I always preferred the resin too.

Razor78 to the rescue! Awesome news! It would be such a shame to let the resin buildings lapse. Thank you for rescuing the lines.

This is a big challenge, requiring courage and vision, but most importantly, customers. I will queue up – the Crescent Root 28mm terrain I have, along with much of Mark's 15mm stuff, is wonderful gaming terrain and very versatile. I look forward to seeing the new items Mark created that are unreleased.

DinOfBattle204 Mar 2015 8:03 a.m. PST

Great news!!!

nazrat04 Mar 2015 8:11 a.m. PST

I have a number of his buildings I wanted to add to my already large collection of Crescent Root stuff so this is great news! Keep us apprised…

PatrickWR04 Mar 2015 8:11 a.m. PST

Do you have any photos of the discontinued/soon-to-be-revived line of resin buildings?

How very Victor Kiam…. ;-) Good luck with the venture – more than a few people will be pleased to see these available again.

Pizzagrenadier04 Mar 2015 8:40 a.m. PST

Very cool! Love when people in the community keep a product range alive. Good luck with the venture, and I look forward to seeing the range come back.

I will line up for the 15mm buildings at least! I always liked CR's product and prices, but like you I kept seeing that he was not casting them. This is good news.

axabrax04 Mar 2015 9:32 a.m. PST

Will you be doing painted versions like Mark did?

IronDuke596 Supporting Member of TMP04 Mar 2015 9:33 a.m. PST

A fine acquisition and I too prefer resin buildings, particularly in 28mm.

Good luck and keep us posted.

uglyfatbloke04 Mar 2015 10:22 a.m. PST

Will they be available in the UK?

panzerCDR04 Mar 2015 10:41 a.m. PST

You should get a wargamer award for your devotion to the hobby. . . or a trip to the doctor for close observation.

Great work!

Thanks a bunch!

What ranges did you purchase? There was an older range of southeast Asian or Indian themed buildings that was fantastic but long OOP.

Razor7804 Mar 2015 11:13 a.m. PST

So, answers to some questions:

1. I don't have photos of them yet, but if you google Crescent Root resin buildings you will find tons of images for them.

2. Yes I will be doing painted versions. I've already got some painters lined up and once I get some samples painted I'll post pictures. I'm going to try to keep them as close to Marks painted stuff as possible.

3. Yes I will ship to the UK at whatever the actual shipping cost is.

4. I'm not aware of the Asian\Indian range but I'll ask Mark about them.

THANKS!!

Razor7804 Mar 2015 11:29 a.m. PST

OH and one other thing, I will be attending Historicon\Fall In\Cold Wars for anyone that wants to buy items ahead of time and just pick them up there to save on shipping.

nazrat04 Mar 2015 12:21 p.m. PST

Good to know since I WILL be at Historicon '15. I will spread the word to my group and garner you as much sales as possible!

Rogues104 Mar 2015 1:03 p.m. PST

This is awesome news, thank you.

Good news and good luck! I have all of the 28mm Indian resin buildings and they are just great.

YogiBearMinis Supporting Member of TMP04 Mar 2015 3:10 p.m. PST

@Hal--are you talking about the same range I mentioned? I only saw them once, with photos here on TMP, of a fantastic range of Indian/Hindu/Cambodian styled buildings that were being used by the poster for fantasy gaming. He had said they were OOP Crescent Root.

Long Valley Gamer Supporting Member of TMP04 Mar 2015 3:35 p.m. PST

Razor, are you planning to expand the ranges also?

Razor7804 Mar 2015 4:38 p.m. PST

LVG, yes I'm am going to expand the ranges and even add some new ones. I want to get the current stuff back into full production first though.

hocklermp504 Mar 2015 6:55 p.m. PST

I have quite a large number of the 20mm desert buildings and walls. Very nice. The roofs lift off and the interiors have tiled floors.

jmw23304 Mar 2015 6:58 p.m. PST

Fantastic news. I actually e-mailed Mark about his Middle Eastern line a month ago, and was sorry to hear I'd missed my chance to buy them. I'm looking forward to a chance to order!

Early morning writer04 Mar 2015 7:09 p.m. PST

Razor, good news as I'd hoped to order from Crescent and then when he turned to the dark and unworthy materials I moved on. Now I can plan on getting the middle east mini-city I was planning for in 15 mm. Very cool.

And if you are going to add new stuff, may I request some 17th century architecture for Three Musketeer type games? A much reduced footprint Notre Dame Cathedral, a Bastille, a very much reduced foot print Tuilleries will all be of interest to me as well as more mundane dwellings like houses and shops and the a section of the city wall and a gate. I think all of these can be done in a generic enough way as to be useful in many other ways.

Oh, and just kidding, more or less, about the dark and unworthy! ; )

Rdfraf Supporting Member of TMP05 Mar 2015 8:09 a.m. PST

Wait! There were Indian buildings!? How did I miss that?

War Panda05 Mar 2015 8:48 a.m. PST

Best of luck with your acquisition. I've lots of their 15mm resin and they're the nicest buildings I've ever seen in that scale

Flatland Hillbilly05 Mar 2015 8:55 p.m. PST

Very good news indeed – glad to see these buildings back in production.

jmw23329 Mar 2015 7:26 a.m. PST

Any news to share?

generaljl03 May 2015 4:02 p.m. PST

Any word when you will start producing buildings?

deleted22222222209 May 2015 11:01 a.m. PST

You should consider attending Little Wars in 2016…I am sure your buildings would be a big hit especially since many started getting them when they were under Cresent Root

Justwin0129 Aug 2017 4:58 p.m. PST

I hope that you will attend Little Wars at some point. I just placed an order for your desert buildings and would really like to see more in person
