Malefric's excellent blogs on Konigswartha and Eichberg inspired me to run a scenario at the Garage based on the latter. Although the ground is fairly limited I thought that introducing a fatigue rule for forces that had forced march, which included no ammunition resupply. This was applied to all the Prussians and to any French reinforcements who Lauriston decided to force march. I added a caveat that a long period of inactivity could rectify this condition. The latter was a mistake.
I expected the Prussians to deliver a bloody nose to the initial French forces and then fall back as fatigue and French reinforcements changed the dynamic. Instead the Prussians decided to use half their force to defend Weissig whilst the rest recovered their wind behind it. The Eichberg itself was covered by artillery, short of ammunition, but the French didn't know that. Guyon's light cavalry cresting it skirmished briefly with some Prussians but dared not attack the gun line.

In Wessig itself von Zeilinsky was eventually assaulted and turfed out by Maison, but the French had been very cautious, aware of the Prussian units in reserve.

And that's where we've left it so far, with the Prussinas now un-fatigued and Lagrange arriving the narrow battlefield could get very crowded, especially if the Prussian artillery, some of it now resupplied, is set up to deny one half of the table. In hindsight if I hadn't allowed the resting option the battle may have swung more as it was designed to do.

I'll try and update this thread after the next exiting episode.
