This is worth viewing because…?

Meanness of spirit is not becoming, gentlemen. These are old school figs painted in an old school style. If you find there is nothing nice to say, say nothing.

If everything is praised, praise becomes meaningless.

To me, this is not about the photos, but the story found in the link, which I enjoyed and found worth reading. Don't stop at the photos. Read on to share the experiences of the one who took the photos.

"While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see."

'This is worth viewing because…?'

Likewise.

Well, ummm, "old school", yeah, I will go with that.

I "boycotted" Byzzies "ages" ago, because my friend's rules favored them too much, imnsho. So I simply stopped meeting them on the "battlefield". My way of making them go away. Now I own that army, since he passed on. And it is safely stored away, in the darkness, where it can never again plague anyone on the gaming table. Bwahahahaha! And yes, all of them are "old school", and would line up beside these guys like brothers….

All my units are "old school" and I loved!

Also likewise. Even bought the company.

The inflation of praise happened many years ago.
I often wonder the same when I see other figures displayed.
But to write as much is completely tactless.
If you don't want to compliment, then don't.
Just as is true in all facets of life, there is always somebody better, so regardless of how much better you may think your painting or your friend's than what is displayed here, there is no doubt someone in the world asking the same question when you post.
So unless a member is asking for critiques or suggestions for improvement, just show a little couth and keep other than encouraging comments to yourself.
Or don't and confirm in everyone's mind…

And I will add that Garrison (Greenwood-Ball) miniatures remain, to this day, my all-time favorites, hands down, end stop….
