So this is a woman with an electric violin.

She looks a little bit elven herself but the main point is that the thing looks like it would be a pretty impressive fantasy (or even sci-fi) musical instrument.

Also it seems like the fantasy version of a lot of these things are a little lame most of the time. The orcs have savage drums but the Elves just have elongated drums or trumpets or whatever but nothing really neat and original.

The Phoenix guard just have a regular long drum here:

The White lions have a horn with a lion on it:

The archers have an ornate horn, but just a horn really:

Even the Dragon Princes horn is a little underwhelming:

The Dark elves are slightly more interesting:

But it is still pretty much the same mix.

I can't find the Mantic Elves any more but I don't remember anything particularly inspiring about their musicians either.

I suppose they don't have to have nifty different musical instruments, they are still fighting with spears and swords and stuff.

But they also have a lot of neat equipment that is very different from human armies.

Could you make something like what is above out of mithril? Would the dwarves have really different stuff as well?

Might a dwarven musician have an accordion?

Geneva Accords forbid accordions. Bagpipes yes but no accordions!

That electric violin could double as a wicked bow…
