As those of you who read and comment on the various topics here on TMP have maybe come to know me, my commentary is a bit askew, even acerbic at times and I have hoped witty. I have tried to be friends with all and even if my ideas are in opposition to yours I have tried to be courteous and friendly and hold no personal enmity (and hope you do too) I do not really care where you guys all come from either as I'm of the opinion 99.9% of gamers are actually kin.

But right now I feel so much hate/sadness/helplessness and all the negative emotions one could expect from a situation that is totally repulsive.
Yes I have dried tears on my face and it may seem to quite a few of you a bit of an over reaction considering what horrors are inflicted to the people of this world on a daily bases.

My reason for such extreme emotions?
I watched on BBC, TV as the scum of the earth. DEASH. members took hammers to beautiful artifacts of ancient Middle Eastern culture and destroyed it..
All I can blame is us in the so called West. Worthless governments from the so called greatest nations on earth I hold you responsible.
What makes some think Mount Rushmore/ the Eiffel tower or any other western endeavour more worthy that an ancient sculpture from Iraq or other ancient land, will all these priceless works be gone and our future appreciation of then too because some dudes in power who have their heads up their butts here in the 'safe lands' are not willing to do something realistic about such evil, and we know this evil will creep in to our lands too and one day we may see Rembrandt and Renoirs paintings being burnt in the name of allah (here I can't even find the words)
If we can't fight to protect the actual mark of man what are we worth?
I can say no more. |

So you are volunteering to go defend them. There have always been barbarians at the gate and always will be. |

The solution is for them to just find a decent job, or so I'm told by the talking heads…… Of course, given how their "jobs program" has worked here, things don't look very promising. |

@Zargon, I agree with you that the looting and destruction of priceless Mesopotamian artifacts at the National Museum in Iraq and other places during the unjustified US invasion in 2003 are utterly despicable and reprehensible. It certainly provided ISIS much fodder in their recent propaganda efforts to fuel hatred toward America and gain more recruits. But chill, dude. The damage's already done. |

Zargon, as a lover of history, it infuriates me to see Salafi fanatics destroyi beautiful, irreplaceable artifacts of past civilizations. I have to remind myself that what they do to people is much worse than any destruction of inanimate objects. |

so you've seen peoples' heads cut off but you are put over the edge by statues being broken? i admit it kills me to see this pointless destruction too as i'm very interested in assyrian history, but i went over the edge a long time ago when it comes to any group that murders or tortures living persons to make a point, or because "god told them to," and that's certainly not limited to the people in ISIS, and it's also certainly not limited to muslim groups…. |

And you blame the west instead of the nut case with the hammer? Well, I thank you for saying no more. |

What's goin' on Zargon. The tenor of this post seems to be in direct contradiction to that of the post you were DHd for. Considering the venue, you seem to be much more angry than is healthy. Call a friend and pop something funny in the DVD player. Raising Arizona, Animal House, and Up in Smoke always set me straight. Chill amigo. |

When you have bad teeth you cannot hate a civilization that made going to the dentist a tolerable endeavour. |

Wow, placing the blame on the wrong people. Isis reminds me of the barbarians that swept across Rome at the end. |

Since the footage leaked on the Internet I have been trying to understand my feelings of outrage. They have already commited acts of brutality and murder against persons -the Jordan pilot or those 21 Christians beheaded in Lybia-… Why I am feeling more upset for the destruction of artifacts than by the murder of people? What is wrong with me? I can't make sense of it. |

Everything these loonies do is taped and put online. Which in turn is put in the news in papers, TV, etc. … They are a "death cult" as many are calling them. They want to bring about the "End Times", the Apocalypse, etc. … This sounds like something on the SyFy Channel or a SF book. But more and more researchers and others are getting this information. They have to be stopped As it seems many that have joined their ranks are very much "damaged goods". And if they were not before … they certainly are now or will be. |
