Very nice. Out of interest, what will you be using for flight stands? The official BF stands (and even the larger one for the Skyraider) don't do it for me as they are too short to look right. |

Outstanding work! Mind if I ask how you painted the windows? That's a really nice "glass" effect." |

Thank you for the kind words folks. @Some Chicken: At the moment I will be using the official BF stands…I don't have any other options right now. On a positive note, I much prefer the newer BF stands to the original ones…I have 3-4 of the old ones to contend with, wish me luck, lol. @ScottS No problem at all. I will post the exact colour numbers in the future, however the quick and dirty version is this: 1. Vallejo blue-grey on the windows 2. Take sky-grey and stiple a line to give a horizon/cloud deck effect…if it goes on heavy I then either use a quick dry brush without paint to take the edges of the sky-grey away or I'll use a very dry brush of the blue-grey to soften the edges. 3. For the undersides, I do the same with sky-grey but also take russian uniform and stipple that between the cloud deck and the very bottom of the window. I soften this edge as needed. 4. Optional – on my last 2 helos, I also took strong wash and streaked the window near the top and bottom Hope this helps. I'll make a better post in the future. thanks again. |
