Flicking through the Land Ironclads rulebook, the Tripods pictured are not the ones from Brigade Models, but another type that look like dead ringers for the Jeff Wayne Musical WotW ones. The trouble is that the rules don't exhaustively list all the figures used and I can't for the life of me find them on the net.

I have a vague feeling they might be some from Wessex Games or a similar company that no longer seems to be producing them.

If anyone knows anything about them, I'd love to find out so I can lay my hands on some!

Thanks
Chris

Sorry Chris, I am only familiar with Alien Dungeon's, All Quiet on the Martian Front's Ironclads and Tripods.

When I goggle The Land Ironclads In your OP the HG wells story comes up,

What rules were you checking out?

If you Google "land ironclads rules" you'll find this:

This is the style I am looking for:

Unfortunately I can't find them pictured outside of the rulebook, so can't give a link to the actual models!

You mean "awesomely huge."

Here it is re-painted, with some added frills:

MHoxie: yeah, I did think that myself!

Lucius: that's a sweet looking model.

For those who have not got the rules I'm referring to, the model would work with 2mm or 6mm figures.

The ones in the LI rule book are from a company called Second City. This is per Steve Blease in a comment he made in a Facebook group. Sorry but that is all I know.

There are some similar, but not the same, tripods offered on the Pendraken website. link but they are 10mm where LI is 2/3mm

Ive built and used the paper model. it's really great but it is large enough to use with 28mm figures.

Fishbuckle23 Feb 2015 3:33 p.m. PST

Thanks. I feared as much! I have come across reference to Second City before as a source of a few things. Unfortunately I've never found anything on their website! Appreciate the intel on this.

It is reasonably easy to resize paper models.

London War Room used to make one but I have no idea whatever happened to the molds

Not recently… ;->=

Would +9" be too tall? Prolly. Also not exactly Wayne-esque.

Thanks, Doug, but the ones I'm after were more suited to 2/6mm scale, so 9" is a little on the big side!

Right, just doing the completist thing. I mean, they're designed for 25mm, could be tripodial leviathans in 15mm, and machine gods in 6mm. ;->=

Speaking of which, Parroom Station sold by Brigade Games has Cephalopod 'personal' walkers which would be merely humongous to 6mm, though you'd have to cover the open 'cockpit'.

Still not Wayne…

Hey Doug. Wow. That's a cool website. Never heard of them before, so thanks for that!

Never heard of them before…

I fear you've broke poor Lon's heart.

He does advertise on TMP, but it's easy to catch the item and miss the store's name in some of the banners. ;->=

Doesn't know me from Adam, but if you do buy, tell him The_Beast sent you.
