Awesome film. I actually applauded at one point--if you've seen the film, you'll know which one.

Two thumbs up.
And that was from just one hand!
Capn Carp says "Check it out."

Ooh, I've been wanting to say this:

"That's just a British version of "James Bond", isn't it?"

Hunlion22 Feb 2015 11:47 p.m. PST

Yep… I enjoyed it! The change of pace in the church took me by surprise…. (Shades of walking dead).

Like Kickass meets James Bond. Lots' of fun.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik23 Feb 2015 9:58 a.m. PST

Like Kickass meets James Bond.

That's probably because Matthew Vaughn directed both. My review here:

Great film. Loved it.

haywire23 Feb 2015 12:47 p.m. PST

The church scene was just intense and insane.

Covert Walrus23 Feb 2015 12:54 p.m. PST

I certainly enjoyed it – Worthy successor to Steed and Peel of The Avengers ( No, not your superhero lot . . . ).

wyeayeman23 Feb 2015 1:08 p.m. PST

It has the greatest line ever spoken on film.
The words that would inspire the hero in every man!

MechanicalHorizon23 Feb 2015 1:43 p.m. PST

I went in ready to hate it.

It was AWESOME. That church fight scene was just amazing.

Mithmee23 Feb 2015 1:56 p.m. PST

Yes I did see it yesterday and there was one scene that I really enjoyed.

The words that would inspire the hero in every man!

Yes it does and the results from that line is not the scene that I really enjoyeds, that one happen a bit earlier.

Though the Evil Villian's plot still probably killed off around 10% if not more of the world's population.

"Though the Evil Villian's plot still probably killed off around 10% if not more of the world's population."

So, the bad guy did actually win, a little, then?

Also, as Mrs. Carp points out, TANSTAAFL.

Mithmee23 Feb 2015 8:21 p.m. PST

Well he did get his party started and it did take the good guys awhile to stop him.

The church scene only took like 5 or so minutes.

I found it highly entertaining and while there was a lot of violence, the violence lacked the extreme blood and gore of some action films these days. I would never have guessed anyone could reintroduce the types of plot, witty dialogue, fun spy gear, nasty villain with a henchman/woman with a specialized fighting weapon or skill and a climatic fight with said henchman/woman fights so typical of the early Bond spy movies and make it seem so fresh. I agree with the awesomes and double thumbs up.

MKGipson28 Feb 2015 8:18 a.m. PST

I want Khurasan to make a mini of the Henchwoman!

tuscaloosa09 Mar 2015 5:32 p.m. PST

This was a fun movie and I liked it, but the bit of crudity at the end with the Swedish Princess was out of character and spoiled the mood a bit, I thought. I am by no means a prude, but the sex dialogue didn't work. None of the classic secret agent movies would have that kind of dialogue; sex would be hinted at in clever double entendres, not stated quite so crassly.

Mithmee09 Mar 2015 5:35 p.m. PST

That was not crud at all and a just reward for the hero for saving the world.

Shadowcat2008 Apr 2015 9:53 p.m. PST

Sigh…no one got it….the hero always gets the girl in the END…..smile

Triplecdad17 Dec 2015 5:16 a.m. PST

Oh, Shadowcat, NOOOOOOO! I wish I had thought of that line! Too funny.

Old Wolfman17 Dec 2015 7:53 a.m. PST

On DVD, Definitely has it's moments.

"Sigh…no one got it….the hero always gets the girl in the END"

Wow! You're right! Damn! I didn't get it either. In fact, I was puzzled as to why they would end it that way! LOL. But that was the inside joke to end all inside jokes. Ummm…no pun intended. :-)

Tango0117 Dec 2015 9:43 p.m. PST

I enjoyed a lot!…

Hope to see a second part!

Brother Jim26 Feb 2016 9:24 a.m. PST

I rented and watched this yesterday.
I thought it was awesome!

I intend to buy it when I get a job.

Weasel06 Mar 2016 10:40 a.m. PST

I didn't think it'd be any good, but we laughed our tails off when we went to see it.

Well recommended.
