A while back I played half-scale Flames of War using micro-armor and half-scale rulers. I painted some stuff and bought up a few collections at flea markets and on Ebay. But I have never properly organized them. So I dug up all my Germans (excluding the infantry) and started to sort them out. Here they are – I'm also going to finish basing them on steel for storage and transport:

I had to organize my whole last year's painting into my boxes, but found reorganizing doesn't make the boxes any bigger so guess I have to add another box.

As a post script back in the summer at a job they had a large 6' square relief map of the whole development of office buildings, It was screaming for your collection.

Careful micro armor is like crack, you can never get enough.

Nah. I've got too much and will probabky Ebay the leftovers…

no such thing as too much.. you will find that you need forces for 1940 Germans, 1941 Barbarossa, 1942 on Ostfront, 1944 Normandy, 1943-44 Italy, Late War, Battle of the Bulge, etc.. and that's without Afrika Korps etc.. Now don't get me started on the Brits.

Yeah, I'm such an outlier with regards to many gaming "norms." No interest at all in North Africa or Italy. I don't do one battle armies – so if I do the Bulge it's with green and gray, not a whole new army in white.

Also, I frequently proxy one model for another. I won's use a Panzer II for a Panzer IV but if I'm short of Ausf D, Ausf G shows up in its place. Since I use Flames of War and custom unit data cards, it's not really a problem.

This. A thousand times this!

I base my WW2 micro armour (almost entirely GHQ) on 1x1 steel bases for GHQ's ruleset. I store them in 13x13 inch scrapbooking containers from Iris. Each holds 169 stands. I have my mid and late war Germans done, early, mid and late war Russians, late war Brits, and late war US done. I've filled 8 containers and I've yet to finish early Germans, mid US, Russian and British infantry, and early and mid Brits.

I recently noticed that GHQ produced artillerists, so (of course) I bought some of each. Now I need to paint them up and add them to my deployed gun stands (as opposed to the limbered stands which won't have gunners).

As an example of never having enough…I have 45 German Opel 3t trucks (plus Krupp Protzes, Maultiers, etc.) Now in my defense (I refuse to take an insanity plea) our group of 8 guys was playing a variety of 1:1 rulesets at the time and nobody else could field any trucks…

I have this completely under control. No really. It just so happens that I had over 1,000 pieces all painted up before I bought any Tigers or Stalins!

Now where'd that catalog go? I'm starting to get the shakes…
