Not a company I have any association to but in perusing a thread on figure size comparisons came across a name 'Emile Horky' that had never heard of. Googled name to find a chap in the Czech Republic who has a very nice range of 30 YW troops (by the redoubtable Paul Hicks) that would look to fit in very nicely with TAG and others too of the smaller to medium 28mm size range.. I notice that it was posted back in July on the Renaissance Products Board only but I'd think these could also do for ECW if only as soldiers of fortune

I think they are about three years "new" now.

But not very widely advertised.

Beautiful looking figures! Prices are a tad steep, Calpe are only £1.15 GBP. Postage to Canada would be prohibitive as well.
Still tempted.

Emil is a good vendor. The prices are reasonable, especially if you consider the free postage after 14 GBP, but I live in the U.S., not subject to the VAT tax, so it works for me.

As stated above, they are very compatible with TAG, and IMHO, probably the best sculpted, and historically accurate 28mm TYW figures for this theater of the war(s) you can find. I had a bunch of old Front Rank horses for SYW and Naps, so this was also a nice coincidence.

Some have suggested using Warlord Games plastic ECW horses, but there are two problems. One, the horses have saddles, and so do Emil's figures, but scraping the saddle is not too big a deal. The other, is that Warlord's horses are just so small compared to Front Ranks, and the figures really are designed for Front Rank horses.

For 28mm TYW, I would not choose any other range (which reminds me, I need to place another order. Emil had some newer figures released several months ago.)

I recently bought some of Emil's figures and agree with ilodic they are some of the best TYW figures around. His service (based on first purchase) was excellent.

I bought some of his his cavalry – harquebusiers and found that Eureka horses fit them well but check with Nic as he makes some horses with saddles and some without.

I think the figures look great, but it's kinda hard finding the right combo of pikemen to make a unit.

Making them to fit Front Rank horses is genius -excellent figs -I have seen these before but I'd forgotten about them so thanks for posting!!
