the scary part is I am no longer able to tell the "serious" news outlets from the sensationalist rags… |
forrester | 17 Feb 2015 6:41 a.m. PST |
I'm a regular "Daily Mash" reader, they are presumably satirising a real-life story, but I haven't picked up on what it is yet. They also did an item following the London rioting a few years ago about looters giving back what they'd stolen from GW when they found out it wasn't computer stuff! |
OldGrenadier | 17 Feb 2015 7:07 a.m. PST |
Obviously someone at Daily Mash plays (or played) GW games. |

You know you've made the big time when the media can mock you without explaining who you are. Seditio facta est vulgaris! |

PTTTSD Post Traumatic Table Top Stress Disorder. A sad byproduct of that senseless simulated conflict. When will our 28mm leaders learn? Wingnut

When is Games Workshop Veteran's Affairs going to get its act together? I'll bet that man's paperwork is stuck in limbo in some damp basement in Nottingham, all the while new Space Marines keep being cranked out in their millions for the slaughter. We can't even have group therapy sessions. They inevitably devolve into multi-player Apocalypse gaming sessions which only compound the problem. |

Well first off he should be been fielding Dark Angels or better yet Imperial Guard army. They also did an item following the London rioting a few years ago about looters giving back what they'd stolen from GW when they found out it wasn't computer stuff! They didn't return it because it wasn't computer stuff. Nope they return it because it was all Finecast Resin. You know I have been on the other of these types of matches. It feels so good when you have hunted down that last Space Marine and killed him. |

Studies have shown that RPG therapy* is moderately effective in treating PTTTSD. A patient whose unit of miniature soldiers has suffered appalling casualty levels and even atrocities (such as death by venom cannon) can enter an RPG therapy group with a character of depth and complexity, and can easily emote alcoholism, paranoia, flat or detached affect, and other aspects of PTTTSD in a safe and supportive environment. RPG therapy group sessions require a skilled DM/GM/referee/keeper to ensure that sessions provide challenges and suitable rewards. Under no circumstances should anyone seeking RPG therapy join my gaming group, which would likely lead to PTRPSD** on top of the existing PTTTSD syndrome. --Glenn *Role-Playing Game therapy, not to be confused with Rocket Propelled Grenade therapy, which usually indicated for those suffering from layoff- or RIF-induced acute depression. **Post-Traumatic Role-Playing Stress Disorder, which will appear in the next DSM*** along with PTTTSD. ***Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the standard reference work for psychotherapy. |
