I enjoy playing miniatures battles as part of a large grand strategy campaign.

I know of two computer war games that allow for use of miniatures for resolution of battles. (Battles are generally resolved via a computer program, but you can choose to play a miniatures battle and input the results manually into the program instead of resolving via computer.)

These two games are both Napoleonic.

Does anyone know of any other computer wargames that allow you to manually input the results of battles into the game, in addition to resolving it via the normal computer game mechanics?

Those are the only two I know of as well.

Does anyone own and played either of these two computer games? If yes, what do you think of them?

I don't know about Empire in Arms but I tried Campaigns on the Danube and it failed miserably.

Carnage & Glory already has a tactical battle system. I play them regularly. It's the campaign feature that is under development and soon to be released.

Hi KaiLarson

I use the Computer Strategies games which are for historical miniatures and they have battle as well as Campaign modules. You create an OB and move it over a map (you can set up your own map or use an existing one). The computer adjudicates scouting, attrition and battles. You can also export the OB for troops in the area where you contact an enemy and play the battle on tabletop. The OB with losses is then input back into the PC to continue the game.

I recommend them.
