Thanks for this.
Much, much better than most previous fare from Strelets. Mind you, Redbox was worse (IMHO), and then did some rather good 1745 Government troops, only, I fear, to fall off again.
The American militia and Indian sets look particularly good. And tempting. Could the Indians be used in earlier conflicts; AWI or French/Indian?
I wonder, there must be scope for using the Brits outside North America. I seem to recall it rained a lot in Belgium in June 1815, though I suspect there was little if any fighting by the British in greatcoats (happy to be contradicted).
With head-swops (plenty of spare heads to trade with HaT's Peninsular British infantry if HaT ever gets its act together and makes some more), so you might be able to field these in the Peninsular, well on its flatter parts (the rain in Spain …).
I will be interested to see how they turn out.
P.S. I took a look on PSR plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=2323
Very disappointing. Compare these with the Link to the masters for "Set 1" on this thread.
I notice that the marching poses (the only really useful ones from my point of view, but that's by the by) have been ditched, but look at the sorrowful execution, attributed by PSR to the poor mould making.
So, I dare say we can expect the lovely masters for the sets in preparation to suffer a similar fate. if I were Strelets's sculptor, I'd either resign or commit suicide.
Incidentally, PSR state that Wellington's British at Waterloo had sent their greatcoats to the coast as it was summer. I assume they know what they are talking about, though it would seem a surprising decision by anyone who had experienced June in England.
