Another 'lazy man's guide' to filling a table with terrain. link Terrain for the non-modellers out there. |

Brilliant idea! I've been using Jenga blocks found in a charity shop and painted sand for Afghan compounds. |

Had a flash idea for making them more stable, and even stackable edge-wise. Get some small circular magnets. Drill two shallow holes the dis. And depth of the magnets in one edge of the blocks (the "bottom" when set up). You could then set things up on a metal table or board (or place metal strips under cloth), and the walls should remain upright and in place when bumped. Put magnets in both edges or even the ends, and you can stack the walls or secure pieces together. Or, for a cheaper approach, use dowel pegs or nails and use a pegboard as your floor. You don't even have to glue the pegs into anything. Just set the pegboard down, insert pegs into holes where walls will be, set blocks onto pegs, Voila! |

Excellent idea. I think great minds think alike! Except I bought at Walmart a tin of 48 generic "Jenga" blocks for under $7. USD I plan to use them for 15mm. These blocks are around 3" long, by 3/4" by 1/2" Dan |

It actually stands up to pretty significant 'bumps' – I deliberately banged into the table a few times to test stability – it took me a few goes to dislodge a single wall segment. |
