This is a MDF kit from Sarissa Precision. The scale is 28mm. It will be used in my upcomming ACW games. On my blogg you can see step by step instruction how to build and paint this building.

Nice. I do wish however that some company would produce the big plantation mansion seen in the movies.

Who would pay the price for that? Also, that is a lot of table real estate it would take up. Good for skirmish games though.

Considering what some people pay for Castles and assorted buildings I would think a lot of people would be willing to purchase it.

Well, size is always a matter….. Mansions demands a lot of space. This is obvoiusly not a Manson, but quite useful in a skirmish game since it do have an inner structure with walls and all that. However it was intended(at least for my part) to be used in large scale battles with 28mm miniatures like this game

Now if somebody would produce a Gone With the Wind Mansion that would indeed be something for each and every "Miniature-Sherman" to pass by;)

Nice building, but if you can't buy what you want then build one. I built one a while back

Bracken, Nice job, there. I also enjoy scratchbuilding. If you are building a large southern mansion, you need a place for the slaves to live. Like this.

Scratch building is always an option. I have tried that as well. However not on the scale of a major Mansion. You have both put effekts into your jobs gentlemen. Well Done! Bracken what is the base material you used?

nevinsrip, nice job on the builds. I steered away from building slave quarters it just didn't seem right. I am a typical reserved Brit I'm afraid.

The Jeppan, its mainly built from cardboard strip's over a balsa wood frame. I did a tutorial a while back on how I do if you want I will add the Link. I don't want to Hi jack your thread so I thought it only fair to ask you first.

Thanks, gents. And apologies for hijacking the original posters thread, but the slave quarters just seemed like a good addition to that beautiful mansion.
Nicely done all around.

I can rekommend everyone else to check out bracken's link. A very clear and precise instruction how to build a wargaming building. I am impressed! It definitly gave me idea what to try out next. Russ have you ever considered to display your works and instruction on a more permanent site?

Lovely stuff Gentlemen. It almost looks like you had to hire contractors to build them! ; )

Thank you ACWBill I'm a sucker for scratchbuilding I'm afraid.

The Jeppan I've taken the plunge and set up my own blog, so thank you for the suggestion. I would probably of got around to it later rather than sooner accidentalpainter.blogspot.com so thanks again cheers Russ
