I had a bunch of Perry Lee's Legion figures that need to be based. I wanted to do something different with them, so instead of my usual 2 x 3 inch bases, I went for the larger 4 x 6 inch stands and crowded on as many figures as I could fit on them. I wanted to portray a charge across an open meadow or field, that wasn't exactly text book. More of a rather confused rush across open ground, no doubt right at enemy muskets.

I have no idea if the Legion ever made a bayonet charge in the real AWI. Anyone know?

The first picture is just the ground cover slopped on. A work in progress shot. Something to show you the beginning.

These next few are the finished product. I think that the flowers add a nice flavor to the scene and really break up all the green. I managed one really good pictue out of the 22 that I snapped. This is it.

These are OK, but not really very good. One of these days, I'll get it.

Super Max, any particular engagement spring to mind?

Nicely done Nevinsrip, I like the look of the uniforms. When I painted mine, I went with the lavender ones, which frankly make them look like 18th Century Pimps. The Perry figures are lovely. I plan on using a second bunch for the British Legion foot.

Very nice-looking unit! The ground work turned out particularly well.

Will you also build a Lee's Legion mounted component?

DB I already have a half dozen mounted Lee's Legion units. Everything from Perry, Foundry, Old Glory, Fife and Drum, Hinchcliffe, Eureka and even the hard to find mounted Firing Line figures. I'm covered as far as that goes.

I wish that Perry had done some firing poses.
The Kings Mountain Dismounted Dragoons will take care of that problem.
