Saw these the other day. TMP link Would love to use these for a big game with every player handling a fleet or two. Any suggestions for rules? |

Full Thrust have a starter set of rules that are a single page, or a page front and back. Even the main FT rules aren't that complicated. Fun set of rules. |

I'm a Full Thrust fanboy, and compared to Star Fleet Battles, or even junior, Federation Commander, suitable for far more ships. But for really large numbers, Sky Full of Ships or G.O.B.S. would be better. AoG's Fleet Action games, the first being for Babylon 5, the second for a homebrew universe, had good squadron rules, but not unflawed, hex based, and long out of print. I really think a stripped down FT with formation mechanics (more than 'stay within X mu's of flagship') would be the thing, but I'm not the fellow to work it out. D6, if you search out more of Jav98's threads, or look back to Sept and Oct of 2014 of the blog, you'll see he has a heck of a lot more of the tiny beasts. Doug |

Starmada Fleet Ops is fantastic. I have run VERY large battles with hundreds of fighters and 60+ ships. And it let's you design your ships. I've done BSG, Trek, B5, and my own generic fleets all with equal success. And the rules are very inexpensive. |

5150 star navy from two hour wargames: link It's quick playing, and does include campaign rules. |

Sunder The Stars ; simple constructions system, easy combat resolution but individual ships and weapons still matter link |

Try Hyperspace Hack. I ran a game with 384 ships total… rules are very simple, the only downside is they are rather pricey… |

I used to own a copy of Hyperspace Hack and was horribly disappointed in it, especially for the money. |

I didn't care for hyperspace hack either, 5150 Star Navy actually is very easy and works well. |

I'm a huge Starmada fan, so I'll throw a vote into the hat for that system! |

G.O.B.S. is perfect for micro fleets. thegobspage.com And if you're interested in play testing an updated version, (expanded yet also streamlined), give me an e-mail. Just put my member name here in front of the ubiquitous @ symbol, and then add aol.com to the end. (Yes, there is a dedicated G.O.B.S. email, but alas, my mail client periodically refuses to access that account for reasons I can't fathom, so the parzival address is the one to write.) |

Geese, Parzival is worse than Candyman. You only have to say GOBS once… ;->= Looking forward to general release of updated game; I've been such a lousy respondent, I don't even offer to playtest anymore. I have Starmada Fleet Ops, haven't felt the urge to play it, but the read was just interesting enough that, if I were to want to play on hexes, and these do have handsome hex bases, I'd definitely give it a shot.
