Know about Irregular, various toys from places like Michael's and other toy stores, Blue Moon (gorillas), and Peter Pig (tiger and gators). But certain animals to 'create Africa' elude me.

Some of you may have seen over on the Victorian Colonial Board (19th century) the wonderful Africa collection recently posted (if not, be sure and take it in). More than a hundred critters on display.

I am here to seek help in getting those animals I've yet to find – a troop of baboons (at least a few poses), vultures, a couple of types of antelope in at least two sizes, some dead animals for the lions and hyenas I already have. Wild dogs would be good. Large storks. Flamingos (have some but oversize). Cape buffalo!!! I cannot afford to commission all of these but I would certainly buy a bunch. Baboons 36 easy, maybe more. Wild dogs, 24. Flamingos, at least 24. Antelope, 24 of each specie, up to four (as long as they are distinct species!). Cape buffalo, 24!!!!!! Vultures, 18-24. Storks, 18-24. Can't forget a good sized troop of chimpanzees! 24-36, easy.

If someone out there has been thinking about doing things like this and looking to get a modest amount of underwriting, let me know. Or let me know what it would take. Not to ask is to not to receive and all that.

I already have, and much of it painted, about 360 animals for my Africa gaming but I want more. Clearly.

Appreciate your replies. And, I assure you, the interest is real and I will make the purchases if I find the figures. And, remember, in 15 mm. Would not turn my nose up at a variety of smaller animals as well but not in such large quantities as above so I realize that is more problematic.

Thanks for reading and any helpful replies. (Like I just sculpted that animal for company X)

Splintered Light has some 15mm animals, though lions and ostriches are the only African animals that I remember.

irishserb, only just saw your reply, so thanks. But I pretty much know what already exists in 15 mm. I'm trying to get a bit more. I might be able to commission a few of the critters I want but not all of them so I thought I'd try the above OP. No takers. But if I could find a set of chimps in 15 mm like the 28 mm ones Eureka makes, I'd be very happy – and short of a pile of cash, too.

Of course, if I could commission them all, I would. Maybe someone can put forth their costs for the above listed items, or selected items, and then maybe I can make arrangements for at least part of what I want.

I do have some understanding of the cost of sculpting a figure and the process, but mostly based on 28 mm versus 15 mm.

Oh for a 15 mm Mega Minis source!
